My daily driver pile of shit. 02 5 speed LSD. Bought from the original owner about 3 years back with the window sticker and a binder full of everything ever done to the car. Hands down the best daily driver I've owned. |

It's a wonderfully fun car, but I was unsure of the longevity, so we decided to lease. Due to that, I probably will keep it stock, so they don't deny me when it breaks under warranty.

I picked up this 2004 Lexus GX470 in May for 8k with 110k on it. This is my second one, really nice rides. Swapped out the air suspension for a Dobinson lift. These are basically a fully loaded V8 4runner, with a larger front ring gear and 3rd row, seats 8.

^Did the Lexus get the 5spd before the 4Runner did?
I had an '07 4Runner Limited that had every option but the rear air suspension, I miss that truck. |
All Gen4 V8 Runners have the 5spd, as do all GX470s.

So I have a debate going on in my head, that I was hoping to get some other opinions on.
Current daily is a 2007 Honda Fit. A little small, but we make it work even with three car seats. I'm wanting to start towing to track events, and have been looking at GMT800 Suburbans (primarily the 3/4 tons). While I can afford to have both vehicles, I'm wondering if it might not be a better idea to sell the Fit should I end up getting the 'burb. I only drive about 6,000 miles a year so the proceeds from selling the Fit should cover a little over 4 years of the additional gas costs, probably a little more since I might start driving the Miata more. Biggest downside is I work downtown and parking would not be fun, but I can deal with that. |
Sounds good

Just picked up this bad boy over the weekend. 15 TDI Golf Sportwagen with a 6 speed manual. Had 17k miles on it (almost 19k now).
Attachment 230047 Stats from my trip, bought it in Chicago-flew up Friday night after work and drove it back to South Florida this weekend. Attachment 230048 For me, I can't find a more practical vehicle out there. Insane fuel mileage, fun to drive, more cargo space than most CUV's out now, and plenty of room for the dog and the baby coming in February. |

Bought a 2018 Mazda CX-5 on June 1st. Then drove it to the outer banks for our vacation. Unfortunately, I was mistaken when I thought it would convert to a boat....

I don't have a normal job, and my wife only works occasionally for a friend of hers so technically we don't have daily drivers. The two cars that might qualify under usual circumstances are our 2015 CX-5 and her 2016 Camaro SS convertible. The Camaro replaces her 2006 RX-8.

Also drove the Honda Accord, and was a little disappointed in the 2.0T. For most of the driving situations I found myself in, it just didn't feel that much more "special" than the 1.5T or the N/A 2.5 in the Mazda6. The transmission was slow to downshift and it doesn't make as much low end power as the 2.5T in the 6. The Honda was noticeably larger, but not as pretty inside and out. It was also more expensive for comparable levels of equipment. When this popped up used with only 6000 miles, I jumped on it. |
Awesome. Those have gotta be sweet cars with that engine.
|
Awesome! Love that color on the new 6. It's a front runner for when i'm ready to unload my is300.
|
Did 2500 miles in the daily this last week.
Hit up the tail. What a fantastic vehicle. Let me be clear, my turbo Miata could absolutely decimate this thing. But full on luxury and quicker than 90% of (fun cars) on this road for a fraction of the cost is just as smile educing. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...66ac618793.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...5b7f03d885.jpg 2 things suck. A pillars are WAYYY to big, i don't need an air bag, let me die. And the electronic steering is soooooooo dead compared to the manual rack in the NA. Other than that, i'm so glad i bought this car. It's unbelievable. Oh and Pilot Super Sports are amazing too, could be my favorite tire. |
^ is that an Impala? I got one as a rental car a few weeks ago and was really impressed. GM has stepped up their game.

So I guess it’s an SS then? Didn’t even know they were making them again, I’ve never seen a new one on the road. This is coming from a guy who daily drives a Toyota Sienna van BTW. Given that, I’ll stand by my statement that the new Impalas are nice cars.

Plugs pulled man. This is it. Last you'll see of the Commodore. Edit* Impala is a nice car. SS is not even in the same league though. |

Just picked up the lexus for the wife, so i'm driving the 4runner now which has also been my miata tow vehicle. She wanted something less truck feeling than the 4runner, but wanted to stay with toyota, so rx350 it is.

People keep calling this "the big MINI" or "MINI on stilts", but like... it's still small.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ab...=w2178-h783-no Also I saw this recently: 2020 Countryman John Cooper Works puts out 301 hp / 331 ft lbs https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...0-photos-info/ much better. |

this is a c400. (i.e., c45)
I drive a lot back and forth to the client site with coworkers so I wanted a 4dr. i really like it, but even as an AMG, MB went away from competing with BMW for sports sedans, so it's less sporty than the c350, but I enjoy the 0-60 of ~4.5sec. There's a few cheap chip options to spin teh turbos up from 5psi to 7psi and get the hp/tq to around 375/425. |
I K-swapped my daily driver and put in a K20Z3 and 6 speed. It is awesome now. 195whp on 91 octane and 202whp on E70.
