Daily Driver Thread
I looked around the forum and didn't find any other thread, so i figured i would start one. I know some drive their miata everyday but I'm curious to see what everyone chooses to drive daily.
my current DD is a 2014 Mazda CX-5 GT AWD, it has 17x8 +35 Konig Oversteer Opal with the 245-65-17 Falken Wild Peaks A/T3W Tires, and a Yakima roof rack. Stock otherwise https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8577/2...a510868b_z.jpg |
Miat is my DD, and you have the coolest CX-5 AWD around.
|
My daily is a busted a$$ 2004 Acura TSX, it's great:
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...01471eb71.jpeg It's currently for sale: https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/6141649771.html to be replaced with a different, but equally busted a$$ 2004 Acura TSX (but with MT instead). |

thank you, its certainly not living the typical life of a CX-5 haha, i was working with a company to build a 2" lift kit but after 6-8 months of working with them, they just stopped responding to me.

Another TSX owner. 06 auto and I love it. I wanted a manual but wasn't willing to pay the $1500 premium to get the 6 speed.

My daily is a 2007 Honda Fit with a manual. Not pretty, nor fast, nor luxurious, but very efficient in every sense of the term. Fuel efficiency is expected, but space efficiency is where it really shines.

Pajeros are cool, but Tacos are AWESOME! Bought it because it was way cheaper than buying anything else and then paying to add a rear locker. Factory rear air locker FTW. |

I work from home so I don't need to drive daily, but this is the go to daily car/grocery getter and backup school bus. I use it for my commute into the city as needed. It also has the child seat in the back to take the kiddo to school/back.

My daily is the opposite of a miata

Been enjoying my daily lately, though I wish it got better mileage. Missing my 6-spd pano roof VW sportwagen TDI, but couldn't pass up the VW buyback offer.
Stook has been lowered a bit after this photo. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...86ad51f9ec.jpg like dis https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...86ef6f7aa8.jpg |
(I think it looked better when it was less lowered. The front wheel gap/well looks funny at the angle of the picture anyway.)

My default "drive to work" car is my Audi:

All year. This darn thing has been so reliable, i have no reason to get rid of it really. Plus when it does have issues, the parts are cheap and readily available.

you guys have some sweet cars!
so i will have a new DD starting next week, its my little $500 hooptie that i use to haul kayaks to the lake. Its a 94 s-10 with a 4.3L v6, 5 speed manual, 4x4, long bed with 262k miles. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4192/3...7f567af8_z.jpg Two weeks ago my fiancee was in a car accident, dude came across traffic and crushed her car. her car was less than a year from being paid off and we were planning to move vehicles around after the wedding next spring. She loves the cx-5 and the plan was that she would get it at that point. So last night we moved the plans up to this year. She will take over payments on the CX-5 and i will hopefully rock the MSM and truck for this year and then after the wedding I'll go look for a new truck. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4163/3...85abc3b6_z.jpg |

These swift springs are the perfect stance for this car IMO. One more gratuitous shot of 's car with mine. That's my dad in the photo. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...667de62df.jpeg |
And looks like the Italian Stallion snuck into that pic too :D
|
yea the s2k looks way better lowered
|
Used to be the 1997 Miata, but now its the 2016 Corolla. The Miata still gets driven to work about 2 days a week, sometimes 3.
|
Used to be this until she got wrecked.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
To each their own. It isn't nearly as low a it looks, lol. Didn't serve much of a purpose beyond, AC and racing the occasional WRX owner on on-ramps. |
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...37c3652861.jpgPicked this up a couple months ago after having a 2013 wrx (I hated having to worry about that engine blowing). '17 BRZ series yellow

So you traded in one subaru with engine popping worries for another subaru with engine popping worries?

This or the 250r if I feel like putting all my gear on in the morning.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...55d57d05c6.jpg This is supposed to be my daily but I can't get the f***er to run right. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f6805c460b.jpg |
Love the Saab. It's a shame they're such piles.
|
I love it when it wants to run right. Pretty much all the problems I've had with it are self inflicted though. Original 2.0 was running great with a 2554 till I decided to pretty it up by powder coating stuff. Valve cover didn't get cleaned out after being blasted and trashed that engine. Now its a 2.3 with je pistons and a 3071. Still trying to work out all the issues with the new setup. (maf performance codes and really bad compressor surge)
|
^ Yo, got any more pics of that sweet Fastiva?
|
Ah a daily driver thread.
This is mine, a Lexus IS200: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e27802a73a.jpg Recently lowered it with a TEIN Street Advance-Z coil over kit, rides a little better. This is a European spec Lexus, something you will not see in the US of A. It has a 2.0L straight 6 with a 6 speed manual (Toyota calls it J160 which in turn is almost the same AZ-6 as in the Miata) and (this one is a Sport spec) Torsen LSD. Rides really nice and chassis is well balanced. The engine is really quiet at high revs, but that is really the only good thing about the engine. Gas mileage and performance both suck, but the gearbox is quite nice though. A 2JZ swap would be nice, but not sure it is worth the money (and hassle to find a suitable gearbox). |
