Daily Driver Thread

I looked around the forum and didn't find any other thread, so i figured i would start one. I know some drive their miata everyday but I'm curious to see what everyone chooses to drive daily.

my current DD is a 2014 Mazda CX-5 GT AWD, it has 17x8 +35 Konig Oversteer Opal with the 245-65-17 Falken Wild Peaks A/T3W Tires, and a Yakima roof rack. Stock otherwise

Miat is my DD, and you have the coolest CX-5 AWD around.

Efini~FC3S 05-22-2017 12:18 PM

My daily is a busted a$$ 2004 Acura TSX, it's great:

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...01471eb71.jpeg

It's currently for sale:

https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/6141649771.html

to be replaced with a different, but equally busted a$$ 2004 Acura TSX (but with MT instead).

thank you, its certainly not living the typical life of a CX-5 haha, i was working with a company to build a 2" lift kit but after 6-8 months of working with them, they just stopped responding to me.

Another TSX owner. 06 auto and I love it. I wanted a manual but wasn't willing to pay the $1500 premium to get the 6 speed.

My daily is a 2007 Honda Fit with a manual. Not pretty, nor fast, nor luxurious, but very efficient in every sense of the term. Fuel efficiency is expected, but space efficiency is where it really shines.

Sounds like fun, but I need to have this thing sold by Wednesday.

I'd still be driving come Wednesday if we went this route...

In all fairness, never more than 3 peeps total, in the truck. But, when I do carry two more passengers, I'm driving, so how they fit in the truck is their problem! :D

Where in Cali are ya? I'm driving to L.A. in the Taco, to visit old friends, and buy a surf board.

Pajeros are cool, but Tacos are AWESOME!

I'm not. I bought this thing in NorCal and brought it home to Indy last winter. Was an adventure in itself.

Bought it because it was way cheaper than buying anything else and then paying to add a rear locker. Factory rear air locker FTW.

I work from home so I don't need to drive daily, but this is the go to daily car/grocery getter and backup school bus. I use it for my commute into the city as needed. It also has the child seat in the back to take the kiddo to school/back.

Been enjoying my daily lately, though I wish it got better mileage. Missing my 6-spd pano roof VW sportwagen TDI, but couldn't pass up the VW buyback offer.

Stook has been lowered a bit after this photo.

My default "drive to work" car is my Audi:

Wife's car is a CX-9:

Lately I've been driving the FD to work a lot though:

Avg over 47k miles is 18.5 and 22 on hwy. I typically drive 75-80 on hwy.

you guys have some sweet cars!

so i will have a new DD starting next week, its my little $500 hooptie that i use to haul kayaks to the lake. Its a 94 s-10 with a 4.3L v6, 5 speed manual, 4x4, long bed with 262k miles.

Two weeks ago my fiancee was in a car accident, dude came across traffic and crushed her car. her car was less than a year from being paid off and we were planning to move vehicles around after the wedding next spring. She loves the cx-5 and the plan was that she would get it at that point. So last night we moved the plans up to this year. She will take over payments on the CX-5 and i will hopefully rock the MSM and truck for this year and then after the wedding I'll go look for a new truck.

Yes. Actually thinking about it and looking at the Stage 3 stuff. F150 short bed with 3.5TT has some serious rear traction woes in wet though :giggle:

Love the Saab. It's a shame they're such piles.

B6Tfastiva 05-30-2017 12:00 AM

I love it when it wants to run right. Pretty much all the problems I've had with it are self inflicted though. Original 2.0 was running great with a 2554 till I decided to pretty it up by powder coating stuff. Valve cover didn't get cleaned out after being blasted and trashed that engine. Now its a 2.3 with je pistons and a 3071. Still trying to work out all the issues with the new setup. (maf performance codes and really bad compressor surge)

The Driver 05-30-2017 12:25 AM

^ Yo, got any more pics of that sweet Fastiva?

DaWaN 05-30-2017 04:23 AM

Ah a daily driver thread.

This is mine, a Lexus IS200:

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e27802a73a.jpg

Recently lowered it with a TEIN Street Advance-Z coil over kit, rides a little better.

This is a European spec Lexus, something you will not see in the US of A.
It has a 2.0L straight 6 with a 6 speed manual (Toyota calls it J160 which in turn is almost the same AZ-6 as in the Miata) and (this one is a Sport spec) Torsen LSD.
Rides really nice and chassis is well balanced. The engine is really quiet at high revs, but that is really the only good thing about the engine.
Gas mileage and performance both suck, but the gearbox is quite nice though. A 2JZ swap would be nice, but not sure it is worth the money (and hassle to find a suitable gearbox).
