Decent Rolling Tool Chest Discussion
You gotta realize that there's the black shitty HF boxes, and then there's the boxes that everyone in this thread is talking about.
The black set is ******* awful and i refuse to say one good thing about it.

IMHO i think the "good" ones should be defined by if they have roller bearing drawers or not. The bad / lower end ones do not. A coworker has one without the roller drawers. It functions just fine for him. It hasn't fallen apart yet...
Not really. Some black boxes are shitty and some black boxes are good.

The only black box that HF currently makes that's worth a damn is the 4 drawer tool cart, which is the baby brother to the 5 drawer red tool cart. But when red is $150 with coupon, and black is $100 with coupon, there's not much case for black other than that it's not red. Because red sucks as a color.
All of the other tool storage solutions made by US General worth buying are only currently available in red.

Hey, don't talk **** about red.
I have the black tool cart from HF too. That's the only reason i brought up the black ones. I like that little tool cart.

Daily reminder that if you don't use a Snap-On aircraft carrier toolbox for your hobbying needs, your life is a disaster.

Only about 50 million dollars which is chump change

This is my main box (generic picture, correct color). KRL 1033

My cart is the ever popular HF red cart (generic picture, again)

The cart is a great start for your home setup. Fill the bottom with greases, lubes, and such, top area for all the sockets, etc. Harbor Freight is really the best bang for you buck, locking drawers with detents or latches are key. I've really liked the Husky brand boxes I've used in the past, but the lack of those latches meant the drawers crept open on sloped surfaces. It's a shame, as the "stainless" finish is damn beautiful. Newer craftsman boxes have the "grip-latch" system, similar to the "Epiq" latches on the new snap-on boxes. Try it before you buy it, I personally don't care for it.
Look at home depot, sears, lowes, etc. Then look on craigslist for used truck-brand boxes. Buy as much box as you can afford.

Not sure if decent or not, but Sears has a black friday deal for a Craftsman 11 drawer 3 pc for $200: Black Friday Deals: Find Black Friday 2014 Sales at Sears
Pretty impressed so far.
Those are awful. :( (Sears box)
This bad boy is a steal at $600. 52" double stack Husky. Construction is surprisingly good, the drawers have a catch latch so they won't creep open anymore like they used to, and no matter how you slice it, it's an ASSLOAD of storage for the money. You can't get the HF 44" combo for this price.
Husky 52 in. 18-Drawer Tool Chest and Cabinet Set, Black-HOTC5218B1QES at The Home Depot
If you don't need the big boy, here's the 41" version for $450.
Husky 41 in. 16-Drawer Tool Chest and Cabinet Set-HOTC4016B1QES at The Home Depot
I'm guessing these might both go even cheaper on Black Friday. I've been to three different stores in the last few days, and they all have these stacked up on pallets in the front of the store.
