The Dedicated URABUS Thread
In the event that I got excited and took out the battery, air box, rad hose, and some other stuff, what's the best way to relieve the fuel pressure in my OBXT? Just have a rag handy when I pull the first injector out?
I always remove the gas cap when pulling injectors; at least on the miata.
Funny story: I was doing owkr to the miata in my dad's garage. I had the injectors pulled and of course I had the gas cap off. My dad saw teh gas cap sitting on the trunk that evening and decided to replace it. Suffice to say the smell of gasoline in the garage about half an hour later was overwhelming--probably dumped a few gallons of gas out of the fuel lines once he put the cap back on.

I was -> <- close to buying a BRZ this weekend.
The dealership wasn't willing to give me a reasonable trade-in on the NC, or else there would be a White BRZ Limited parked in front of work right now.
Although we did buy the wife a new Mazda 6 i Grand Touring.

I think I know the answer but are any of the "more affordable" cat backs for the lgt worth a dam? I just can't sink $1k into a cat back and I want a better exhaust so I can run a true stg 2 cobb tune.
You shouldnt need a catback for stage 2, unless the LGT stuff is much worse than the wrx/sti exhausts. Either way Nameless doesnt make a fairly cheap LGT exhaust? Or whats wrong with taking it to your friendly local muffler shop and having a custom setup made with the BIG magnaflow.

who is nameless (will google)
custom exhaust has crossed my mind, but i dont have a friendly or competent muffler shop near me... that i know of anyway. i dont let people touch my cars... because morons. if anything, id do my own, and by the time id get all the bends, pipe and muffler, and spend the time doing it, it would make more sense to do this (assuming its worth a ****):

If you have a wagon, make sure the exhaust tip does not point towards the ground and exits past the bumper, otherwise you'll get major drone.
I guess this is only an issue on the outbacks without the bumper cutouts...
I have a big magnaflow in the resonator location and a smaller magnaflow where the muffler normally goes and it's loud. I have plans to redo it with a Y pipe and second muffler like factory but I'm lazy.

Put a deposit down on a 2015 BRZ Limited, black. Should be here in 3-4 weeks.
My vehicular bad luck continues. It appears my bug eye's radiator is toast. Coolant all over the top, where the plastic connects with the rest.
Should I replace with oem or go aftermarket? It is my daily.

Too bad radiatorbarn no longer exists :(
It's got 80k on the original one.
I picked up an all aluminum rad from my local subie shop. They had a CSF in stock so I swung by to take a look. I had never heard of them prior to that. It looked good and the welds were done right so I bought it. It's made in Indonesia, so I guess better than china?
The rad has an additional cap and I asked if I needed anything special to install it. Blank stares.....lol. After reading, the rad cap gets a higher pressure cap than the upper res. So t the overflow line or just cap the rad fitting? Shouldn't matter cause the rad cap shouldn't open.
