Yeah, it's truly awesome. And it's probably the thing I will miss the most when I leave this area.

For that matter, pretty much the whole area between I-15 and Hwy 86 is like this. We all owe a huge debt to the brave civil engineer who felt these roads were worth paving.

From what I understand (having never driven it), the Gap is a much faster course. Most of the roads we run out here are slower but tighter and they're not really "major" roads- they're all paved, but many are not marked and they are very sparsely traveled. Palomar Mountain is kind of the exception- it's "the big one" in this neck of the woods, the one with name recognition where all the squids go to get killed. There's a fair amount of traffic and some police presence, but despite this you just can't not drive it.
