i have the same bender and it tried makeing a roll bar and the just colapsed it too. i need to try the sand thing too

This is the type of tubing bender you need to make rollbars etc. As others have stated you can try sand but really you have a bender that is made for extremely thickwall tubing and not for exhaust tube bending.

Ya as Mark P said, that site you gave said schudele 40 minimum. Im guessing that sort of thick. I dont think your dumb or anything though, It would be sweet to have a pipe bender, but I wouldnt know what is good or bad. 10 bucks is a good deal on that.

Yeah thats a piping bender not a tubing bender.... You need thick walled crap.

Good for rollbars/frames, not so good for thin wall SS exhaust. I really like those benders and that's what I'll be getting sooner or later.

that thing was $10 for a reason, unless you are bending some that you want to look real shitty, those benders are worthless

You are right, for thin wall SS you need a mandrel bender.
