Default Dr. Who Netflix instant.

Im sick of Dr. Who stuff, and not knowing wtf anything means (screwdriver and phonebooth thingies?) Where do I start on netflix instant? Is it worth watching the old version(s), should I start with the new(er) one? There is quite a bit of Dr. Who stuff on there.

Old ones are pretty dated, I'd start with the 2005 ones.

There is a crazy number of episodes on Netflix. Luckily they have them organized. When you add the 2005 season 1 disc to you queue they bundle the 5 seasons together.

What's the deal with this show? Worth watching? I can enjoy a sci-fi series even it's a little cheesy or campy (Firefly), but not if the writing sucks (stopped watching Lost after season 3).

I havent started it but I hate missing all the references. I figure its worth checking out, since I can watch it free on Netflix.
