Default Drove a Vette Yesterday

I had a chance to take a 93 special edition stock vette for a ride yesterday. I must say, I was not impressed! Sure, the vette may have an impressive top speed, but I kept thinking my little turbo 4 banger is just as fast(if not faster) 0-60 and has way better handling characteristics than this vette. The owner is dying to race my little miata and thinks he's going to embarrass me. I'm confident after I get my Link going, his jaw is going to hit the steering wheel after I fly by him.

c4 is pretty flexible. the c5 is really pretty amazing. i considered getting one for my wife. she used to have a '99 miata sport with ghost flames and bolt on. we found the corvette version (flames and bolt ons) in a convetible.

the c5 really handles better than the previous iteration. the motor is pure honey.

Yeah, LS1 or go home.

The older LT1 corvettes were pigs. The LS1 in the C5 is a wonderful engine. That's why i'm about to drop one in an FC Rx7.

I'm not sure which engine is in this vette. Don't get me wrong, as much as I love my little miata, I'd trade it in a heartbeat for the right corvette. A friend of mine took me for a ride in his 99 six speed. That thing was fast and it felt more balanced than this 93 special edition.

Uh, I believe it also has pushrods and a transverse leaf spring.

I know....but the performance is unreal... it makes you forget about the cost cutting.

I definately wouldn't call the leaf springs on a vette cost cutting - they work really well. They ride like crap, but they produce tons of grip if set up right, and they weigh very little. That's why the ancient C4 vette is still in the same SCCA class as STis, S2000s, and EVOs.
