Fuck having vertigo for a frigging week and a half. Fuck having a migraine on top of it last night that kept me up until 2am. I'm just worn out, weak, hurt, and tired. I'm eating comfort food and drinking stouts at 11am this morning. Fuck it all.

My wife got "benign positional vertigo" a few years ago after breaking her leg. Never went away. She has to sleep at a 45 degree angle now. Hopefully yours gets better

Cheers! And thanks. Doc says that side inner ear may never come back online due to infection of the nerve from some virus going around. He says my brain will learn to compensate using the other side only but it will take a while.

Meanwhile I walk like a drunk much of the time, just without the delayed reaction time. Whatever. It's a gift to be alive and I am thankful.

I find it interesting that if you type in "drunken" in the forum search bar, Fae and Gordon's thread pop up before this one.
For the last two months, I have been adhering to a strict budget that prevents me from buying my normal weekly alotment of beer.
This has had the effect of saving me tons of cash while also lowering my tolerance.
I am now a mere mortal, and must subscribe to this thread.

Teehee. This does not surprise me, most of the decisions in my build thread were fueled by alcohol. I'm not sure how I feel about this :giggle:

I've started getting my alcohol calories from drinking a lot more whisky recently, so not as active here on the beer thread. I also have beer for you, because I still hold out hope for the "Get Drunk With Monk" youtube channel, I just keep forgetting to put in in the mail.

Sixshooter, are you feeling any better? Hope it's not as bad as it was a month ago :/

Never regained left side balance center. Having to compensate using the right side only. Getting better at it but still less than optimal. Not ready for a track day yet, lol.

Thanks for your kindness.

I understand the frustration. After a full semester feeling totally out of it (depressed, exhausted, hazy) I got worked up and found out that I had an autoimmune thyroid issue (hashimotos). The process is frustrating, but atleast you know the way forward.

Is there any sort of therapy they can do to help you retrain and recalibrate? The brain is remarkable...

Erat 01-26-2017 01:55 PM

I feel depressed, exhausted, and lazy every day.

+1. :giggle: :sad2:

hankclaussen 01-26-2017 05:13 PM

Hmmm thyroid issues are common but considering this is the thread for drunks, maybe less drinking and more sleep would help?

Also, +1

My doc recommend massive amounts of vitamin D, 50,000 ius; helps a little.

You better hurry up and send it before my first review is of some beer I bought at Aldi.

ridethecliche 01-26-2017 06:16 PM

I do love some whiskey.

Been a bit bored with beers, but a good sour beer always gets me going.

Whiskey vs. Whisky: What's the Difference? ? Straight Up Cocktails and Spirits Kitchn

Whiskey/whisky nmemonics:
Here's a quick way to remember how some of the world's biggest producers spell their products:
  • Countries that have E's in their names (UnitEd StatEs and IrEland) tend to spell it whiskEy (plural whiskeys)
  • Countries without E's in their names (Canada, Scotland, and Japan) spell it whisky (plural whiskies)

My current preference is the Scotch Whisky variety, but I'll drink almost anything with the word "Rye" on the label ;)

sixshooter 01-27-2017 06:57 AM

Doc says to be active and not sit around.

ridethecliche 01-28-2017 01:58 PM

Had a few sours last night!

They had a smoked sour (3%) that tasted and smelled like pork belly. Super interesting beer.

Thoughts of right now, 7pm on a school night.
Bumped my head at work, pretty good. Didn't realize there was blood until it was running down my face and even then i thought it was sweat until it landed on my lips.

So i've been driving around on the G-Loc pads that are sold on 949 / supermaiata. Everyone, this is a PSA, if you drive in a climate in which it precipitates liquid H2O. If you are on the expressway for say, 20+ minutes in this heavy rain and have to stab the brakes DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO WORK. This is the first time i've experienced this in a brake pad. I'm interested in seeing how they work when they get packed with snow and ice. Talk about a little butt pucker my first time.

Another thing i have noticed. My NB with s-drives turns harder than a Dodge Demon. Ask me how i know.

He was so unhappy with the outcome of lateral maneuvers that he proceeded to drive like ... well.... a 100k muscle car owner who got a little behind a stock Miata.

I had one more thought, but i have since forgot what it was so instead i'll post a video of a 100hp starter i was recently working on going "kachunk - chunk".
