hobie237 gets my vote. He must be one of those 11 month babies and been slow ever sense. His post count is over 11K, yet I see him posting the stupidest things. A while back he tried very hard to convince me a car with more HP will always be slower on a racetrack, since he has to brake sooner for the turns. Could there possibly be anyone worse than hobie on miata.net?

I've met Hrogi and POPSTOY in real life, and Hrogi didn't seem that bad. He joked about his username and his spelling, saying they both made him look like a tiny asian dude (when in reality he's a 6'3 220lb white guy). Pops is frustrating and bullheaded as fuck, but he is decently knowledgeable on a lot of topics.

My current favorite is that asshole who tried to tell me (and everyone else) that the stock 5-speed had "excelent" reliability all the way up to 300whp. I blew out 3rd gear in my 5-speed a week later - at a whopping 219whp and 201wtq.

Yea, that was my question that sparked that debate. The tranny works well with the MP62 at 250/200, but with the 2871R going in I decided to find a used 6-speed first, then sell the fully functional and recently rebuilt 5-speed in the car. I can at least recoup some of my expenses instead of breaking the 5speed and having nothing to go towards the 6. I already have the 3.63 ring and pinion, so they'll be swapped for the 3.90s in the diff now.

Slottcar. Clamed "turning the cam in the head" meant spinning a cam bearing... in a car with an in-the-block cam. He also says wider tires dont have more traction.

Yah, I think I heard that one from Don too. I've never gotten along with him because I don't think a Bridgestone RE 750 in a 195-50 is the best handling tire ever to grace a Miata wheel. The Azenis comes with a paultry 8/32 tread so it's a waste of money. I nominate him not so much because he's fucking stupid, but because he's goofy lookin' and I just don't like him. Does that count?

IMO, Don is the biggest asshole there. He deleted my posts because I called someone an old man, then tried to talk down to me, when I gave him a reality check on who I was/how old I am/what I do/what i've accomplished, he started making childish replies to try and redeem himself. Oh, and hes a big fan of cutting his stock springs to make the car faster.

That's funny you guys mentions Don, I bought my hardtop from him and he was pretty cool. He's an old man and lives in Biloxi, about 40 minutes from my house. Seemed like a pretty cool guy to me.

Closed-minded as fuck. He, Catman, and a few others give that forum its reputation of being really intolerant towards new people and new ideas. He thinks that his way is the best and he refuses to even hear ideas on how the car could be made better. He's also extremely condescending and his holier-than-thou attitude has pissed me off more than once.

I guess he's just nice to me cause I gave him 900 bucks for a hardtop. He is pretty stuborn though, it took me 2 months to jew him down from 1K to 900 for a hardtop with headliner and defrost.

I've owned Hondas (3 turbocharged and a few N/A) and I've owned Mazdas.

Hondas are way easier and way cheaper to make fast N/A. A Miata will never be fast N/A unless it's stripped and you get a second mortgage on your house, and even then it won't hang with the mildest FI setup.

So you've got a Nakamichi head unit in every car you've ever owned? Otherwise you know nothing of car audio.
