My first cash bet race... to a stranger.
...im a bit nervous. We bet a measly $20.
Its a 1978 Chevy El Camino, From what I recall, I raced him before on the freeway, and easily pulled away. I dont know yet whats under the hood, but I met him today at Summit Racing, he is an employee there.
We are going to agree to a place to meet, and do this.
From what I can tell from the outside, and sound, I bet its the stock V8, by the loud magnaflow exhaust... Its got that slow RPM sound of the stock 305, so I like to think im pretty safe.
Yes, I will get video.
Im just nervous, I just met him so I know nothing of his ride like I do with all of my friends.
Like I said before. He has raced me before, at freeway speeds. I pulled away easy. He just reconized my car in the summit parking lot.

They are most of the Miatas on CL in the Denver area below 4K right now.
Although honestly thats a real bargain, considering how rare and collectable they are.
(Edit: No disparaging your car man, its just a jibe at a stupid assed add that gets put up daily on the CL right now.)
A good auto is the way to go for drag racing, though most OE units take a good bit of work compared to something like say a turbo 350.

Damnit, I just got walked on the way home from work by a new Mustang GT. I guess I'm down on power because I've smoked those before.
Humiliating part was the guy drove next to me for another mile pointing and laughing...guess he got a kick out of beating a "ricer". Guy seriously wouldn't let it go...first time I've ever really considered running someone off the road.
