I saw in a FAQ somewhere that if your drl's turn on when you turn your key to on, then turn off as you start the car, the rapid on/off/on can damage the ballasts.

These probably won't last long

+1

The beam pattern from a HID bulb doesn't match what the reflector on a light meant for a halogen capsule was designed to do. You'll get a lousy beam pattern if you don't switch out the reflector along with the bulb.

Also, just found this last night.

Same dude, selling same stuff on eBay cheaper.

The problem with the DRLs is that it's a lower voltage being run through the same circuit. The HIDs don't like this, and turn into strobes. You will usually have to disable the DRLs to convert to HIDs, unless you are lucky enough that your DRLs are on a seperate set of wiring, and you can add in a seperate halogen bulb if you wish to keep them.

I just put this exact same kit on my wife's car (from vvme.com), and the light is nice, everything is of surprisingly decent quality for chinese work. The connector between the components are decent, but I added a real 12V source relay, and sturdier ground eyelets. Again, they are hella bright, and it will take some work to get them aligned to where they don't piss people off, and on some cars even require blacking out parts of the reflector.

The kit shown is a single beam kit, and they also make a dual beam, bi-xenon kit for twice as much, without adding another ballast (weight).

I'm considering doing it to the miata as there are currently cheap H4 reflectors on eBay, and vvme.com sells this kit in H4-3 (dual beam).
