Is everyone taking crazy pills but me?! (cr.net artard)

http://clubroadster.net/forum/viewto...er=asc&start=0

Peter is back.

You know, Intentional Trunk/Fender Rust Guy. You know, sidedraft carb retrofit guy.

This time everyone is riding his nutsack for the genius move of REMOVING HIS WINDSHIELD WIPERS on a daily driver.

God I hate that forum. I can deal with the wine and cheesers on m.net way more than I can with the complete ricers on that board.

kotomile 08-03-2008 10:31 PM

It's a clean tuck, removing the wipers is a bit extreme but when you consider his location it's not all that bad. If anything, he's taking a page from the VW crowd.

bryantaylor 08-03-2008 11:21 PM

holy fuck, those are ugly wheels

johndoe 08-03-2008 11:29 PM

I don't get the man love for the socal crew either. No originality, just straight copying either the vw crowd or "jdm style" on otherwise stock cars. Boring......
edit: Actually what bothers me the most is everyone thinking those clowns can take a good picture.

coastertrav 08-03-2008 11:40 PM

I liked his first car before the fender rust, but I'm not so sure about this one.

Those wheels are hella ugly.

He tried to retrofit carbs on that?

On his first Miata he DID retrofit carbs on it. I thought it was a neat idea, definitely taking the 2 door roadster back to it's roots.

Your kidding. Poor fuel/air mix and shit cold starts and having to sync them is really how a roadster should be...

imagine how much lighter the miata could be if you could run it on a distributor and carbs... ditching 90+ lbs of wiring, sensors, ecu, etc. I agree, that if done properly it would be a pretty cool thing to do on a non daily driver.

spike 08-04-2008 12:30 AM

I could really give a flying fuck what those idiots do to their cars,as long as they don't come here and show that kind of shit, who cares.

Maybe not how it should be, but that is what it WAS.

Sorry, I grew up around Alfas, MGs, Jaguars, Spitfires, and Fiats.

I think there is something kind of exotic about a well tuned, well built multi carb'd motor.

Case in point...

What peter fails to mention is that he can't even put a hood back on that car the way it sits. The strut tower brace is for an NB.

It's ghey, it's not that much cleaner than my car's bay. wooo :finger twirl: you removed 2 bottles of water your car needs. Granted mine does have A/C and PS. but it manages to look just as uncluttered which i think is better than actually removing stuff.

coastertrav 08-04-2008 04:00 AM

Thats funny.

BTW, what intake manifold is that?

18psi 08-04-2008 04:29 AM

call me crazy, but I dont find it all that ridiculous

Savington 08-04-2008 04:31 AM

Looks custom to me.

I actually loved Peter's old car, and ironically I got a chance to see his old wheels (those crazy 14x8.5 +4 and 15x9 +23 Work Equip 03s) on my car after my friend bought them. Once he started doing shit like the rusted fenders, no hood, carbs, and the acetone-finished trunklid, I didn't like it. The car went from clean and smooth, to ratrod.

hustler 08-04-2008 08:12 AM

ricertastic

Braineack 08-04-2008 09:49 AM

nice car, wanna race?

MX_Eva 08-04-2008 10:59 AM

Haha Scott.

Yeah the Intake Manifold is custom, i've only got one complaint about it. I now can't get adapters on my AC lines to recharge, easiest method I can think of would be to lift the engine just enough to get the clearance.

Wire tucking isn't sooo bad, as long as you keep function and don't start adding fiberglass panels to hide things. Even then though, I feel if you are ditching stuff to "wire tuck" or "clean" or whatever, if you don't go this far

http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...l/100_1535.jpg

what's the point?

icantthink4155 08-04-2008 11:16 AM

doing a search right now for the carb thread, anyone have it handy or have any tips for quicker search?

MX_Eva 08-04-2008 12:27 PM

Oh damn I wish i had integrated velocity stacks. Also I've thought about putting a bigger TB on it. I bought it from someone on this forum...or well they used to be, I think really only for sales.

One thing to be careful of, only because I've had to deal with it. make sure you have somewhere to mount the throttle cable bracket. The side walls are really thin and aluminum, bolts don't get enough threading to hold and not strip the threads.

Braineack 08-04-2008 12:41 PM

:) ventri's FTW.

I'm going to stick with the stock TB, to retain the idle valve (without having to go all fujiracing remote) and because with boost it's not a restriction.

otherwise other than welding itself, it shouldn't be too bad. I'll be able to weld all the bung I need on and make sure the TB bracket has plenty of threading :)

Zabac 08-04-2008 01:04 PM

Scott, where you buying the stacks at?

Braineack 08-04-2008 01:23 PM

otherwise you can get some cheaperish ones here: http://www.velocity-of-sound.com

CR.net gang

I recruited and spent some time with a bunch of CR.net guys at Miata Mash II at AAA Speedway/Fontana in May. It was the first time I had hung out with the "KINOD" crew. They were all very nice. I do not care for their cars though. Just not my cup of tea. I am ALOT older than them so the "JDM" look is lost on me I suppose. I like 'em straight up and built or speed and handling. My car actually won the car show that day.

Anyway, dont bang on those guys too much. They are just doin' what we do. They are into their cars as well and having fun.

Regards, pwcfan

It's a hood rat thing,or whatever the fuck they call it.

icantthink4155 08-11-2008 11:57 PM

I call it a dumbass thing

18psi 08-12-2008 02:05 AM

wtf...does he drive it like that?

AlexandertheOk 08-12-2008 03:16 AM

I ran into a guy a few weeks ago in Albuquerque (New Mexico) with a 1.8 bp powered 914. He made a custom intake with 2 motorcycle carbs on it. That plus a header and he claimed 130ish on the wheels. Corrected for the elevation I believe... It sure did sound pretty bitchin'.

It was funny though because I was with my friend who is a 914 nut. We kind of looked at each other and both thought the same thing, our cars running into each other head on and melding.

Actually the motor was from a Protoge, because it was easier to route the coolant.

MX_Eva 08-12-2008 03:22 AM

If you want a hot so you can take the fenders off and have exposed motor so bad...why not just get one? I will never understand. It hurts my head too much.

rleete 08-12-2008 09:37 AM

The part I just don't get is the excessive lowering. How the hell do you drive it and not scrape the fenders and tires all to crap? Plus, the wheel being cocked in like that, aren't you going to get uneven tread wear? Is it simply a case of style over function?

AlexandertheOk 08-12-2008 11:38 AM

Did you guys know peter is famous?

http://kinod.net/peter/

The best picture by far is 4/5ths the way down. Some guy in a blue shirt has an eye full of tit. lolz.

There's actually a waiting list to suck him off.

Yes peter has excessive camber. Yes he is dumb. Yes the scene is dumb. Yes he has followers. NO he is not famous.

Kinod is a big ball of retard.

it hurts my head to attempt to decipher your poor usage of English.

TURNS101 08-12-2008 03:47 PM

You guys are fucken funny.

What is the difference between you making a car turbo and fast and them dumping down and putting wheels. They both serve the purpose that person is looking for.

Peter is a really nice person and a like able kid that uses correct grammar and doesnt talk like a hood rat ricer douche.

relax, my car has a bit of that style and is a fast turbo/track car. Drift or not.. Oh shit, I drift.. LOL

Ban!

I'm not attacking Peter as a person. I'm just saying his tastes in automotive styling are "semi-retarded."

wildfire0310 08-13-2008 08:35 AM

I will give Peter credit for just doing what he wants.

When I first heard of the carb, it made me think of the old school Rat Rods, and I give him credit for taking an old school approach to a newer school car. The carb idea was ok in my book, I wasn't a fan of the rusted trunk. I did like that he did something different with his car, but not my cup of tea and I am kinda sick of everyone over at CR doing the rusted look.

I am not a big fan of his new car, but I do like the wire tuck and would like to in the end do the same with my miata. I started doing one on my Talon. It just cleans up the look of the engine bay, but to go so far as to lose function is retarded. When people relocate things such as the overflow to under a bumper, I give them credit for keeping function while adding style but to remove something as functional as the wipers. That is just asking for it.

In the end, his car, his style he can do what he wants, whether I like or don't like it shouldn't matter to him. Just like what I do to my car is what I want, it doesn't matter what others thing as long as I enjoy my car.

urban 08-27-2008 04:15 AM

y8s 08-27-2008 10:07 AM

that car doesn't bug me. it's all one color (I'll forgive the hardtop) and ... oh wait a minute. parts of it are either not green or have been repainted. that right front fender doesn't match the door.

and those wheels are heavy. and the eyelids are... eyelids.

I think the real reason it's NA is because of CARB.

Braineack 08-27-2008 10:20 AM

pretty car, wanna race for pinks?

talusfan 08-27-2008 11:05 AM

Wheels must weigh like 30 pounds a corner, but hey who cares if it takes a 1/4 mile to stop that bitch. Can you imagine hitting a bump in that thing? You would be all over the fucking road.

RotorNutFD3S 08-27-2008 02:17 PM

Chameleon paint on portions, and carbon fiber trunk and fenders... Make up your mind.
Obvious reasons have already been pointed out for the wheels.
Could have been a good looking car...

levnubhin 08-27-2008 02:24 PM

But it looks JDM tight yo. :jerkit:

Multi colored rainbow paint, useless carbon fenders, retarded looking chrome wheels,drifts,cr.net memeber with over 1000 post, from socal, member of the socal ricer gathering "kinod".

One of the main reasons I came to this forum....
If I wanted to "Hardpark", I'd stay in the garage.
Don't want to sound like an M.netter, but destroying the steering and handling of the Miata for just pure "looks" is redonkalus.
Improvements are a given, but when it outweighs the functionality, it is just obscene. ;)

1. what is an "artard"?

2. I googled "hardpark" and ran across a flickr site of neat looking VDubs. I started browzing the pics and WAT do I see on page number 2?

purple wheels.

and later? does not compute?

also I think these cars share wheels.

When that car looks like one color it does look good for what it is. The color shift looks like crap. Sure everyone is free to do what spins their top. It's their car and their money. Doesn't mean anyone else will like it. Doesn't mean other people can't crap on it in internet forums.

Personally I thought this was the best pic from the Kinod pic site.

cueball1 08-27-2008 05:19 PM

That red car missing the fenders and hood just needs a set of Frog Arms to really look good. The bright green would set that off nicely.

And some fenders too.

jbguillo 08-28-2008 03:11 PM

Damn, you guys are pretty critical. It's really all about what people like. A lot of those KINOD guys don't track their cars, and just like making them look nice; So things like wheel weight and camber really don't play a huge role in their decisions. A lot of those kinod guys are really cool and knowleadgable, granted...some are not, but they are all learning. And with urban, the green car is his daily, he also has a red turbo na that he tracks...and he's a damn good driver.

Peter likes to make his car's look "clean", by tucking wires, tires, and such. So what if he likes the Hood Ride look, on some cars it looks really fucking cool and unique. Everyone likes their own type of shiz, I really don't think they need to be ripped apart on an internet forum about it. I would not even come close to refering to the kinod guys' cars as rice, because they are far from that.

Braineack 08-28-2008 03:26 PM

some people like Picasso some people like Rembrandt....point is?
