Everyone's Insurance

What is everyone's monthly rate for insurance for their miata?
why is your insurance so low/high?
Who is your insurance provider?

(just created this thread for an interesting topic)

magnamx-5 12-09-2006 07:20 PM

I used to pay 250 a month at one time it was 350 a month now 130 or so a month sometimes they are just out to fuck you no matter what miata is no more expensive overall than any other normal car of the same year. btw this is liability priciing one ticket and one wreck from age of 19 now 23.

Philip 12-09-2006 07:37 PM

I pay 80 for the GTO and 20 for the jeep.

Ben 12-09-2006 07:44 PM

I'm around $2500 per year for everything (house, cars, bikes). 26, no at-faults, one not at fault (bitch ran a red light). Full coverage on all vehicles with high limits and low deductibles. AllState carries most of it, but the bikes are through progressive and a couple of the cars are through haggerty.

If your miata is not your daily driver, take a serious look at collector/specialty car insurance. In my case it's about 1/3 the cost of going with a normal policy, but with the same or greater coverages.

Fritch 12-09-2006 08:03 PM

I forget what it is, but I pay $270 a month for full coverage on the Miata and my work car (06 Chevy HHR)

I'm 24 with a decent record

Trent 12-09-2006 08:22 PM

23 with one accident. State Farm.
$120/mo on the CRV
$27/mo on Miata

Loki047 12-09-2006 08:25 PM

22 no accidents
100-120/mon on camry+miata - full
52/month on motorcycle - liability

boostinsteve 12-09-2006 08:28 PM

Z28 and miata=$70 a month
One accident from drunk guy hitting me at stoplight
USAA insurance.

mxv 12-09-2006 08:28 PM

130 a month liability only :td:
geico
7 violations - 4 speeding 3 wreckless

getsidewaysd1 12-09-2006 08:45 PM

Around 85 a month full coverage.
1 speeding ticket
1 running a red light ticket
Titan insurance

Mach929 12-09-2006 08:46 PM

it's meaningless if you post what you pay without coverages.
I'm 150/month for the miata and my beater truck.

miata has 500 deductible on comp and collision and $5000 in added parts coverage. truck is just liability

my bike is just liability, i pay 180 a year

insurance is progressive for everything

oh forgot to mention i'm 26 in suburban philadelphia with no tickets and no at fault accidents

magnamx-5 12-09-2006 08:47 PM

Like i said when they want to fuck you insurance is a major butthurt i hate the insurance iundustry almost as much as i hate buicks. :( but atleast i am edging towards sane rates. my bike is only 150 bucks a year all with minimumliability coverage.

olderguy 12-09-2006 09:07 PM

I'm in New Jersey; need I say more?

cjernigan 12-09-2006 10:43 PM

'99 4x4 Ranger, full coverage with $500/$100 deductible collision/comprehensive = $155 a month.

'99 Miata with same coverage at = $65 a month.

20 years old with one speeding ticket in Dekalb county Georgia and one collision in Tennessee. Don't speed in Dekalb, the ladies in the court office weren't too nice to the white out-of-stater.

Arkmage 12-10-2006 01:07 PM

Age: 23 in 5 days
Provider: State Farm
Rate: 650/6monhts comprehensive (roughly $110/mn)

shuiend 12-10-2006 01:23 PM

I believe my insurence is about 820$ every 6 months through USAA. I am 19 and on my parents account. I think I have a 1000$ eductable though which sucks.

akaryrye 12-10-2006 01:49 PM

$700 each year for two miatas. Liability only, one driver, 23 years old. I am insured through esurance and found them to be one of the lowest rates to go for liability only. My accident coverage is the 10k I have managed to put into savings :P

adbradley 12-10-2006 02:06 PM

i cry when i see your guys's rates on bike insurance.. I used to pay 36 bucks a month, in Illinois when i was 22, i then moved to Phoenix, and no one had told me that Phoenix was the bike insurance fuck you in the ass place of america. They wanted 4500 a year to insure my R6. I had to get rid of it, that was more than my payment on the damn thing. If i had a cruiser, AKA Harley, it would have been like 1200. I hate insurance in AZ

Loki047 12-10-2006 02:10 PM

Im in illinois and pay 52 on the bike, what coverage and what size?

hustler 12-10-2006 02:23 PM

$87 for the miata, $90 for the 97 jetta. I'm almost 26 with no violations or claims ever, and with state farm.

kotomile 12-10-2006 02:27 PM

1011 every 6 months (so.. what.. 168/mo) for the Miata and the SRT4, and that's with 2 tickets.

Ben 12-10-2006 03:02 PM

That's about what I pay for 4 bikes in GA
2 x cruisers 1100 twins
1 x cruiser 750 v-4
1 x sportbike 750 that puts about the same amount of power to the tire as the miata :)

Full coverage on the cruisers, liability and comp but no collision on the sportbike (they don't cover accidents at the track anyway). $500 deductibles. Through progressive directly.

<edit> I looked at my statement. It's ~$440/year.

got rice? 12-11-2006 01:44 AM

04 MSM, $60/month, full coverage, full tort, $500 ded. on collision & comprehensive, Geico, Amish Country, PA

97 Miata, $80/month, full coverage, full tort, $500 ded. on collison & comprehensive, All State; I'll switch to Geico shortly and drop full coverage.

At least you have the option, to go without KY has mandatory insurance to drive. Wich helps drive up the rates.

Rage_Kage 12-11-2006 12:46 PM

17 yrs old, one accident not at fault
$110/month under my parents name
liability, $1000 deductable, progressive

:gay: insurance is mandatory hear.the thing is its 1 of the 5 boroughs(nyc)but its more spread out.so you need a car definatly to get around and they can charge what ever they want and people have to pay.

there was a write up in the paper saying the staten islander man was getting rippped off.worste rates in new york so probally the worste in the country.

Atlanta93LE 12-11-2006 10:10 PM

I pay ~$950/year for my '93 Miata and '03 Grand Am full coverage here in ATL, through Geico.

Oh ok i thought you meant thta you did not have insurance and where driving around in the car. If you have liability insurance then you have insurance in my book as everything else is just extra.( And for my money a waste if it is gone it is gone you shouldnt have played with it so hard, if someone else broke it they need to fix it is my feeling on it.)

Pitlab77 12-18-2006 05:22 PM

25
99 miata about 59 dollars a month full coverage

Allstate
500 deductable I forget the exact numbers on the rest.

I have a good record

Markp 12-18-2006 05:30 PM

$35/month liability (IIRC)

My bike is cheaper, by far, to insure.

VF1000F $78 per year!

Mark

jayc72 12-18-2006 05:35 PM

I pay about $50/mo (Canadian) per month for full coverage on my Miata. 35 no tickets or claims in a long time.

I only insure my Miata 6-8 months out of the year.

mx5 squirrel 12-18-2006 08:47 PM

21, perfect record, and I pay 160 a month. They wont honor me being 21 untill next year (I just turned it, on dec 7) so Im going shopping for other insurance policys, apparently this one doesnt care about my buisiness.

Mymiataflys 12-21-2006 02:59 AM

25.00 per month, liability only, state farm

Ha. Yep.

Horray for marriage! I'm now at $292 per month down from $367 for:

100/300/50 liability on everything
$1500 deductible on Collision & Comp. for the Cooper S and Millenia
glass replacement
Just liability on the Miata and Impreza

Millenia and Impreza are daily drivers (driven 50+ miles one way to work 5 days a week)
Cooper is garaged

y8s 12-21-2006 10:04 AM

21st century.
31 yrs old

full coverage, zero deductible on the miata for comprehensive (500 collision)
and no matter how many lesser cars I own, it's still 600 every 6 months. actually I think it was like 575 with the E30 and miata. about the same with the E30, miata, and minivan. just me on the policy.

but

i have to switch because they dont exist out here in Dee Cee.

suggestions?
