Default An excerpt from the new CHP no cell phone law..

Does this make any sense to anyone else? So basically I cannot talk on the phone, I am ALLOWED to use a blue tooth, I am ALLOWED to text, but I cant use Push to Talk...

its ok for me to use both hands and my eyes to text, but god forbid I am talking on the phone... wow

did you miss the part where they can ticket you for anything youre doing that they deem is taking your attention away from driving?

Wow....that's ridiculous.

Texting is definitely wayyy more dangerous and distracting than talking on the phone or using a nextel.

In England I think it is, they put padding on the street poles to protect people from walking into them while texting. Apparently its all the rage over there. I personally hate texting.

did you miss the part that says the law does not prohibit it?

what youre stating is already law. not paying attention to the road, instead looking at your radio/cig/child/dog/mouse whatever...

yeah, that's how it is in DC which has a cell phone law already. i see people holding phones get pulled over periodically.

actually the DC law is that you can receive or place a call, but you cant talk on the phone. so techncally dialing is legal even though it requires the most concentration (for me at least).

yep thats what this law states too. doesnt make any sense to me though, may as well just say you drive like an *** you get pulled over and fined. end of story.

that and the fact that i was reading a study that stated that not talking on the phone while driving does not decrease or lessen the risk of gettin in an accident. but you never know with those "studies"

I'm just living for the day I see a woman get pulled over for doing her eye make-up while driving her Suburban on I-95. While on her cell phone. And maybe smoking, too.

We are in an age of reverse darwinism. Been like that for a while.

Is it still OK to get a blow job while driving? If so, I could care less about the texting and stuff... If we keep the top up, OK?

The way I read it, this means you could use Push-to-talk if you are simultaneously playing with your ****.

You did when you totaled your first miata...

I wish every state would ban people from using handheld phones, texting, etc. After commuting 90 miles/day round trip for two years, I have seen first hand that a majority of the drivers doing stupid things are f**kin with a cell phone.
