Just in case anyone is looking for a good FPS to play, the new Far Cry is pretty good. I have been playing for a little more than a week and I am @ 69% completion so it is probably good for wasting about 2 weeks of your time.

I hadn't played any games for a while but it seems like a few good ones have come out (or are coming out) for the XMas season. I played Fallout 3 for a few days before I got Far Cry and it seemed ok. When Far Cry came out I forgot all about Fallout 3.

 

I got sucked into the first Far Cry.....will have to check this one out.

 

I am not up to date with games anymore. Do they still have map editors? I still play Far Cry 2 for multi on Xbox all the time, map editors > *.

I'm playing it on PC. The simulation of fire is incredible. I was playing around with the gustav outside a building, shooting at trees and suddenly I'm being hurt. I turn around, and I realize that the backwash set the grass on fire behind me and the wind blew it towards me. The molotov cocktail is actually useful in this game. It starts huge grass fires very quickly and is great for flushing enemies out.

I have far cry 2 for the PC. Its awesome!



The map editor is AMAZING, you can make great maps pretty eaisly. The game itself is very fun, much more like what the original far cry should have been like. Hell, the back blast from the rocket launcher will set the tree behind you on fire and hurt you haha!

Hey, question about the game...

On my map I see something that says "15 *" (I'm putting a * there because I don't know how to make a symbol for diamond). Anyone know what that means? I currently have about 130 diamonds and have seen that number on the screen change from time to time. That 15* is on the map and moves around (like a house would when you change direction of travel).

 

Am I the only one who thinks COD got boring as hell after the first time around? Everything is scripted to the core. It gets so old. Though, the first time around was a blast.

 

The only fps I play regularly now days is CS:S. For pc of course.

OK, Far Cry has been solved (damn, my *** is sore from sitting so long today). I guess it's back to Fallout 3 - well, probably not. I'll play around with Gears of War 2 some and see how that is...

 

Im still stuck on desert combat(bf1942 mod pc). Battlfeild 2 sucks *****. Its seems like all of the newer fps games have abandoned the concept of leading your target. I cant get used to it and its not as fun, although, I have not played any of the games mentioned here.

 

I don't have it for PC...wish I did. My little brother introduced me to it on the 360 a while back .



I just picked up Fable 2 for some fun ****....Fallout 3 is next for the PC.
