With the impending demise of Flash as a whole, the companies which specialize in creating and hosting them (Armor Games, NewGrounds, etc.) have obviously been all abuzz. A few different solutions are happening, such as the mostly Flash-compatible Ruffle plugin, but the best one I've found, by far, is Flashpoint from Blue Maxima: https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/downloads/

Conceptually, it's a big like MAME, for Flash. It's an application which runs locally, without requiring a browser at all, and it has access to a gigantic community-developed library of games which have been extracted from their original host and packaged individually. Once you load a game from the repository, it stays downloaded to your local machine and can therefore be run without an internet connection.

Thus far, every memorable game I can think of is there. Crush the Castle, Hedgehog Launch, Exit Path, Robot Unicorn Attack, Winterbells- all the good stuff.

I have no idea what the legality of this is. I mean, it's technically piracy, despite being an open-source thing. They have honored a request from one developer (Nitrome) to have their content removed from the library. That being said, it's entirely possible that, as with most other "sharing" systems, this one may get taken down eventually. Thus, they do offer a torrent which downloads the entire available catalog to your PC, so that you can run the software even if the repository itself eventually gets taken down. It's a mere 532 GB at present.
