First annual miataturbo dyno/kart/meet day!!!
Okay looks like September 23, 2006 is the best date for most people. I wrote first annual b/c it'd be cool to make it a more frequent event. So now, I need to know who will be coming? Will you run on the dyno (info below)? Will you run on the kart track (info below)?
Crap, first dyno place is booked until October. There are still two other local dynos that I will call as well first so we can still dyno if people are interested, it just won't be at the original location. We have two choices, but I'll have to make a reservation soon. One is a dynojet in Lansdale, PA for $60 for three pulls, and the other is a mustang dyno in Aston, PA for $75 for 2-3 pulls with one 1/4 mile simulation run. The kart racing website is http://www.midatlanticgrandprix.com/...COME_RACE_FANS. It's $20 a race and if ten guys come out, they'll do a $50/3 race package. You can bring your own helmet if you have one so you don't have to bask in someone else's sweat. They do give everyone a head sock though. For a preliminary itnerary, I figure the early/local guys will get to the dyno around 9am and have everyone else trickle in during the morning. We can then hit lunch at a number of different places ranging from a local brewery to authentic mexican to the big harley davidson restaurant off 95. Then hit the kart racing place after lunch. Feel free to join at any point in the day if you can't make it early. |
wish i could make it. :(
i'll be ATL the previous w/e helping a friend at a drift demo and helping another install a new suspension on his GTX. |

OK, so the 42 is bogus:gay: :robert: :gay: :robert: :gay:

The closer to MD the better, Aston, PA looks good.
|

Side note: I found yet another dyno in Newark, DE that would be $50 for three pulls with WB. That would make it slightly closer for the MD/VA guys, but I am trying to be fair to olderguy and the guys from up there (both in location and age :) ) as well since he will be coming from northern NJ. |
Set it up best for all others. If need be I'll come down the night before and stay someplace.

Okay reservation for dyno time is made. September 23 starting from around 9:30-10am to at least noon if not more time. Dyno is in Newark, DE to make it closer to the guys coming up from the south. Place website and address is here: http://www.aca-performance.com/default.htm
The guy there was very friendly and said price would be $60 for three/four pulls with wideband AND he agreed to let us make minor tweaks between runs so you could get some minor tuning in. He is doing this as a courtesy since we are bringing more than just one car so we should take advantage of this, but not abuse it (so we can come back next time). So those that plan on dynoing, come prepared with preset emanage maps (if you want to try other maps for ignition/fueling/etc..) and tools to adjust any afpr/afm/bipes etc... So when the time comes to change stuff, we can make it painless for both us and the dyno operator so we can actually get some tuning in. Hopefully, turbotim and braineack are also coming, but I know there are more of you locals out there. Come on out, the more the merrier. Oh, I also forgot, feel free to invite any non-miata friends as well if you must.... |
damn I paid 67 bucks for like 5 pulls and probably 2 hours of tuning time here just as a walk in
|
I should be able to make it. Only about a 2 hour drive for me. I just ordered an LC-1 and a narrowband gauge finally, so hopefully I'll have it fully tuned and can just get some good runs to see the power I'm making.
|
Wrong side of the continent pour moi. Maybe if there's a northwestern shindig I'll attend.
|
Bumpity. Bump. Bump.
I know there are more of you out there in the area...:) |
hey toms looks like i should be getting my car back something next week, so i should be there.
|
Me, Brad (Newbsauce) & Sevan (That7Guy) should all be driving up together. If Dan (Rappadan) gets his shit together maybe he can come up as well for a good tuning.

|
I hope guys shoot video and pics for those of us who can't make it. :sadwavey:
|
Bump.
So who's coming??? |
So far it looks like it is going to be:
turbotim olderguy that7guy newbsauce brgracer mach929 braineack still have not received any definite confirmation from: snowsurfer03 Anyone else is welcome, even last minute. I'll send out a reminder e-mail/PM this week with a rough schedule (in case people want to come halfway thru the day), contact info, and locations. I'll try to repost here as well in case anyone decides to join last minute. |
Okay guys here is the dyno day info for anyone else who would like to join. Please send me a PM/e-mail if you are coming last minute. I will check both Saturday morning before I leave. Estimated arrival times and cell #s would be great as well.
1) Bruce (olderguy), Phil (Mach929) and I (brgracer) will be at the dyno by 9am. Feel free to come anytime in the morning, but the later you come, the more runs you will miss witnessing. :) We’ll probably be there for at least a couple hours if not more. The address is: ACA Performance, 73 Albe Drive, Suite 1 & 2, Newark, DE 19702. Phone 302-369-0200 2) Lunch will be at Iron Hill Brewery about 5-10 minutes from the dyno. I figure we’ll get here around 12-1pm depending upon how many people dyno and for how long. The address is: 147 East Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Phone 302-266-9000 3) After a leisurely lunch, depending upon the time, we can either go directly or take a back road drive to the kart racing place around 2pm-ish. If you plan on kart racing, remember to bring a helmet if you have one as you won’t want to use the loaners if you don’t have to. The address is: Midlantic Gran Prix, 4060 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720. Phone 302-656-5278 Any other questions, suggestions, issues, feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail. Thanks. Tom |
I want to see some big numbers with those IC kits! I wish I didn't have a wedding this weekend:sadwavey:
