FMs dynos.
newest post in dynos at m.net, 11psi 1.6 voodoo II 196rwhp uncorrected
They correct like 20%, but all their new corrected dynos seem way high. that would put this one at 235rwhp?! has anyone acutally dynoed with their dyno and then again <1000' it would also seem high for the 265cc injectors to support 270BHP. am i the only one thinkin' the results they keep producing are kinda crazy up there? |
yeah,a gt2554 at 11psi making 235whp on a 1.6 sounds a little incredible.
|
HaHa, I'll agree that FM's dyno (and their correction factor as well) is optomistic, but you're mis-applying the correction factor.
No one said that the car would make 230+ whp at ~sea level. It would run lean due to insufficient injector and blow itself up; one of the dudes from FM even admitted this. What we need to do is look at absolute manifold pressure. At FM, this car is at about 26 psi absolute. If you brought the car down the mountain, it should make the same power at 26 psi absolute, which would be atmo + 9 psi. It should make *more* power at atmo + 11 psi, or 28 psi absolute. And *THAT's* where the big chunk of the CF comes in. And yes, their CF is pretty generous too. But no, I don't see a 9 psi voodooII 2560 @ 6° timing making 196 rwhp on any dynojet at sea level. However, with a set of NB 1.8 injectors, a timing controller, and a hint more boost, I'd bet it IS possible. |
ok, well whatever the case. i dont like seeing these crazy high HP numbers and thinking im doing something worng
|
He also said he was running the stock clutch...
|
So, 80whp more than the FM site claims for this turbo kit? Obviously this guy is lying, or they have the "gain" cranked up too high on the FM dyno.
|
i don't see any other explanation other than that their fanboy dyno is just way off, it sell turbo kits i guess. I bet a dyno that gave blowjobs would be popular too

And I thought the m.net "Have you named your car yet?" thread was gay. |

And I thought the m.net "Have you named your car yet?" thread was gay. I talk real sweet to it just a few miles from home and it is running rough. Things like 'Oh baby just make it home' Or first thing in the morning if it want start, something along the lines of 'Dumb little $%&*@#' |

Whoa...you need to teach your women how to do it right.
That's more like it. If it's more than that, she needs some instruction. First cum, first served. :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :barf: |

My 94 has no name, because it isn't a heap. I never understood the whole "talking to your car" thing. Happened the DAY we got our tax return checks last year, timing belt, say good bye to tax return. Then the day we submitted the bid on our future house (yeah, we got it, move in the 29th!!) it tossed up a CEL, cracked the thermostat housing, split a heater core hose, and riped out a motor mount. You think I am just playing the coincidence game...but all that crap happened IMMEDIATELY AFTER (2 days prior) getting it fully inspected by a VW Certified Tech that is know as the "deadliner" who is a friend of ours. He is our mechanic, and he works on my cars exclusively, and he knows if he finds it, we'll pay him to fix it. All he found was that the rear brake clips were in backwards. THAT'S IT. So in 2 days all that crap broke. He even looked at all that crap, and, well, he was like, "HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT HAPPEN IN 2 DAYS!!!" So yeah, Herbie, I mean, Pookie, is a money hungry POS!!!! |
lalalalalala
that's a corrected number lalalallalalalalalalala |

Are those with a Dyno Jet or FM's In-House Wheel Dyno?
