Man, I went to look at a 240sx before i got the miata and the owner was just like that guy. Might as well have told me "These rust holes are actually adding lightness." and "The primer spotted paint job adds to the sleeper look."

His twin brother lives across the street from me.
He came over to the house a few months back and wanted to borrow some tools to take the intake off his Civic (he lives across the street, good kid, I wasn't worried). He asks me for a 5/8 socket among other things. I told him that I was pretty sure it was going to be a metric size (had no clue what I meant) and insisted his buddy told him it was 5/8. 20 minutes later he comes back and asks if I know how to get a bolt out that has the edges rolled over. I gave him my bolt extractor and showed him exactly how to use it (no way was I going over there). 20 minutes later he says it isn't working and that it just keeps spinning and won't catch. "Did you grip it real hard and smack it with the ballpeen as you started to turn it like I told you." "You didn't say that"... on and on. So I give him my drill and an appropriate sized Easy-Out and show him exactly how to use that. 20 minutes later he comes back and asks if I have a Dremel or a hacksaw... now I've gotta go over there.

NO ****, he was trying to take the entire intake manifold off just to install his new PepBoys chrome-**** intake pipe and had destroyed one of the bolts... turns out it was like 13mm or something.
I showed him the hose clamp he needed to take off (with a screwdriver) to remove the stock pipe and pulled the airbox out (not secured by any means). I showed him the MAS and told him how it worked (don't ever put your fingers on that piece of wire)... and did the job in about 5 minutes. Then I told him never to touch his car again until he asks me first or I'd tell his Mom what he's spending his money on. He thinks I'm God and comes and asks me every time he wants to change something. I always talk him out of his plan and we go with something better. Then I find a better price on the internet for him and help him put it in... good kid.

There was a 4 door just like that down in Jacksonville, guys owned a shop and made it as a joke. It had a clock for a tack, big plywood wing, and no rear doors. It was rediculous.

My favorite is the guy who rolls around here in a civic with a big chrome air cleaner glued to his hood between a pair of chevy valve covers.

That's a pretty old video... I'm fairly sure the cow car has been dead a while. Didn't the owner also have a old school turbo supra that took a motorcycle in the rear? I miss autoX at clemson. The guys there were a lot of fun.

yeah... when I co-op'd in charleston I'd drive out to clemson to autoX. you might remember me as the dude with a black v6 cavalier and no driving ability. I went to high school with Ken Brewer and usually hung out with him during autoX weekends.
