$2.59 per gallon for the half tank of REGULAR I just put in my Miata. That's right REGULAR.

I can do that with 10 deg base advance and no positive manifold pressures.

uhhh higher altitude = less oxygen density = lower combustion pressure and temperature

oops. Guess that would help explain why you'd want a blower on the GTO. Just never occurred to me that the altitude could affect cylinder pressure that much.

You should run the highest Octane available in lawnmowers. There is little else to help prevent detonation in those little air cooled engines. All the little engines in my house get 93 octane, lawnmower, tractor, chainsaws ( I heat w/ wood), weedwacker, ect...

Gas dropped to 2.83/gal here.

I was in W. Lebanon NH last week, I stopped @ a place that was 2 cents cheaper then the Shell across the street...
I started pump'n, then I noticed there super was only 91 (v. the 93 For 2 cents more) F'ers...I was more pissed because I was getting overcharged for 91 then missing out on the 93....

Some Shells carry 94 up here...

actually... I bought one about 4 years ago with a little briggs and it specifically says not to run premium or it can damage the valves. Thinking like you I ran it and fucked up the engine.

No ****!!!

The only owners manual I ever read...Guy thing Was the one for my Husky...Which states always use the highest grade available...

FWIW, I have burned out two motors so far in my chainsaw... maybe I should switch to the cheap stuff too...

I have no idea why it says that. Maybe it burns a little hotter and toasts the valves, I dunno.

It got so bad that to start it I had to pull the plug, give it a squirt of starter fluid right into the chamber, then put it together real quick and start it. Really sucked *** if it was hot already.
It started this the first month I had it, after maybe 4-5 uses so all I can think is that they were right

Now I have a honda and it starts first pull, and I do run premo in that one, with sta-bil, same for the snow blower that cranks up right away every time, even when it's 0 out. Never even USED the electric start.

the snow blower is running mobil 1 too.

my snowblower engine manual (tecumsah snow king) says you can use reg or premium, no leaded. briggs must be the oddball.
