I've always used BP Ultimate (98 RON) in my cars except the Golf which takes diesel!

With the price of petrol these days I'll probably just run the 95 RON stuff at least until I go with forced induction.

I've heard it's best to go to the busiest station around. The idea is that "fresher" gas has higher octane. Can't remember where I read that though...

I'm a creature of habit. There's a shamrock station right up the road from me that i always fill up at.

Well, used to anyway. They recently knocked it down to rebuild a new Valero station (parent company of shamrock, i guess), so I'm stuck buying gas all over town. It feels downright weird.

Yeah, well there's big ($) reasons to jump on the ethanol bandwagon. I'm not totally against it, if I were to build a non-DD, it would be fun to properly convert (redo fuel lines, huge injectors) it to run on E85.

i drive by a citgo terminal everyday back and fourth to work. every possible tanker truck you can think of pulls in there to load up. i don't think it really matters where you buy fuel or what brand you use when it all comes from the same place. I buy from sam's club. i work there and i know what they put in the ground and we have the system properly maintained and tested. we also pump out slightly more than you pay for(about 4 to 8 ounces per five gallons) its cheaper to dispense more than get fined for not enough

Our local Sunoco carries 100 octane for the extra power hungry individuals. I have all of those gas stations within about 4 miles of me though. It's really determined by price.

oh if buying high test, make sure to go to a station with multiple pumps.the single pump starts you off with whatever the last guy used.or atleast this is what someone told me.

I try and stay away from Chevron. When I was a kid I remember my dad being furious with them for closing Riverside raceway. I don't remember the details, something about putting up an industrial park. He cut up their credit cards and mailed them back with a complaint letter. They didn't reply they just sent him new cards.

I go to 76 because they're close by.

So do you live in central california? There is a planned massive racing arena to be placed in Atwater, California. Anyway, i know its a long shot but I had to ask.

I usually do Exxon because they usually have the cheapest gas on my way back from school. Sheetz is sometimes a penny or 2 cheaper but I would take exxon over sheetz gas any day of the week. If I am out just driving and need gas I usually stop where ever I deem to need gas at and is cheapest.

The high test 100 oct has it's own dedicated pump. No cross octane contamination.
