GETCOOLPARTS experience
With so many bad experiences being posted, I thought it'd be good for a change of pace.
I was set on a Corrado BBK from 949, however I was adamant about getting rotors which were painted in the center. 949 seems to have the best prices on the rotors from where I looked, but I was willing to play the field and see if for a reasonable amount more I could get painted ones.
All the usual local suspects were as expected, over priced. I figured shipping would kill any savings on anything I found online.
Phil pointed me to getcoolparts.com as thats where he got his rotors, and unexpected to him they came painted.
Below is the subtotal for 2 front Corrado rotors, and 2 rear 1.8 (94-97) rotors. Feel free to use the part numbers to make your life easier...
Vehicle:1990, VOLKSWAGEN, , CORRADO / L4-1780cc
2 Front Brake Disc
front;;packing Sizeiece; OPPARTS VWW074183 ---- $60.32
Vehicle:1995, MAZDA, MIATA, MIATA / L4_1.8L
2 Rear Brake Disc
rear;;packing Sizeiece; Per Car Qty:2; OPPARTS MAZ073907 --- $41.16
Came to about $102.
Just so happens, these crazy cats offer free shipping on orders over $49.99, SCORE!
Add to that a small discount (-$5) I got googling for coupon codes (audi)
Final price was $97.42 for all 4 corners shipped to my door.
Now for the real reason I wrote this thread...
I placed my order late monday night/early tues morning (8/3 @ 1am), WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THEY WERE AT MY DOOR!!!
Got email confirmation, invoice, etc..good updates.
Upon inspection, I noticed one of my rotors was damaged (chunk broken off from the outer edge). Next morning (Thurs) I sent an email to customer service and attached a picture of the issue. No ranting and raving, simply let them know I was expecting a swift resolution.
Thurs afternoon I get a response, thanking me for including a picture, advising me to trash the rotor, and that a replacement was on it's way.
Sure enough, with no further contact, Friday afternoon my replacement rotor arrived. Best of all, the tape on the box was cut open--the bag the rotor comes in was torn open, and fingerprints on the rotor itself. They friggin took the time to actually look at what they were sending me to make SURE it was not banged up. I know, sounds SO trivial, and should be common sense--but these days its not.
So I just wanted to show them my gratitude by sharing my very positive experience with them.
