I know this is last minute, but I figured I'd post up anyway to see if anyone was interested. A group of Miatas from CR.net are meeting at the Varsity in downtown Atlanta tonight because some Miatas from Pensacola, FL are in town, seeing the sights, going up to the mountains, etc. and wanted to see all of our cars.
Anyway, we're meeting there at 8pm, and there shouldn't be any issues there since it's not a normal ImportAtlanta night or night for other rice meets.

Next time guys-- I started to drop the kids on their grandma, but she's also my office manager here at DIYAT so I've already worked her pretty hard today.
I'm going to be out of town for 4 days starting this weekend (Bonneville Salt Flats-- Speedweek!) so I should probably hang with 'the fam' anyways...

That would be sweet... someone build a serious Miata Land Speed car for next year's SpeedWeek at Bonneville and I'll sponsor you to help you with your EMS needs... must be a serious effort though. It would be fun....
The car I'm going out to support is a twin-turbo 515ci big-block Chevy motor'd 53' Studebaker. He's aiming for 250mph or better which it should easily do. Last year I went out to support Gary and he ran a 'warmup' run at 227mph at 29% throttle position as confirmed in the MS datalogs. Unfortunately on the second run a coolant hose had popped off and the motor seized. This year we want the record .
Check out http://www.diyautotune.com/cars/cust...studebaker.htm for pics and video of last year.
If you guys have never been out on the salt you've got to put it on the 'to do before I die' list... it's amazing.

Well that decided the make or break for me. It's too effin' hot out to spend an hour on the highway, top down.
'fore you non-locals call me a *****, it's just over 100F at my house, humid, and it's a smog alert day.
