Giant-ass styrofoam gliders.
I used to tie strings to them and try to fly them as kites 
It always sucked when the wing joints would get stretched and the wings would fall off as soon as you gave it a push. The later models had the plastic u-clip to hold the wings in place, but even the holes for those would stretch. The solution was always adding electrical tape as a shim....and using it on the bottom of the nose to prevent sever scuffage from nose-dives.

Thanks to you I now feel like I missed out on half the joy of childhood. Oh how long were the days of trying to keep that hoopty in the air until Mom was ready to buy another one....

****. All this talk makes me want to go find one and relive my childhood, now that I know how to "improve" upon the original design. I used to just put up with the loose wings falling off, now I can add some touches to it. Weight distribution, aerodynamic improvements and improved durability, that kind of thing.
And was it just me, or were your best flights always the ones that killed the plane? It would catch a nice updraft and go twice as far, only to hit a pine tree and break the wings in half or crack the nose section off...

I remember getting one a couple of years ago when my nephew came out to the house so he could experience the joy of flight and the stark reality of failure.
By then they had shrink-wrapped the wings. They held up a lot better than the old styrofoam-only wings of the old days.

I wonder what wrapping one in aluminum foil would do? Make it look like a B-29 or something. Paint the seams and rivets onto it. 
I would put all of that work into it to have it crash the first time I threw it.

No shrink wrap, i am gonna order esc and servos and battery tomorrow. I have big servos, but i want smaller ones. I have a thinker piece of balsa i am using for ailerons and elevators and the rudder, i may even be non lazy enough to cut them into cool shapes. Gotta do a timing belt and water pump on my car though, so it may be slow

Or perhaps it's Hobby King now. At any rate the place in Hong Kong. You have to wait forever, but there are some great deals there. Good quality mini servos for around $3. You can get a cheapie brushless bell motor-ESC-prop combo for ~$15.

All I need to order now is the battery, it is a 3500 kv motor that I have and i was wondering about picking a battery, all my other planes are gas... So i was thinking about a battery with these stats i came up through a little research. A lipo 2260mAh,11.1V and 25C. Sound good?
