That is unbeleivably shady. I work at an Americas Tire and I'd get chewed out for hours if I fucked up that bad, if not fired. I'd also get chewed out for taking an hour.

if the tire is torn/cut deep enough it will have a good chance of developing a separation. separations are bad news, and if it causes a wreck, you may not be around to sue anyone. if you decide not to replace it right away, keep a very, very close eye on it.
