You should go with the beater/sleeper idea. Keeping a car beautiful is for the m.netters. Keeping it in good, fast running condition is always fun. You can always look forward to the mechanical projects.

I like having an old ugly beater. The A/C doesn't work, the aftermarket stereo install sucked. I hate power steering anyhow. The interior is one coffee spill shy of unliveable.

What does all this mean?

It means my car is about to be ~100lbs lighter, with more feedback from the steering, and more money towards the build budget. Craigs already netted me $220 for the stereo crap that was in there.

I say just do it, and never look back.

Just get a new door. Contact Bryan (disturbedfan121 or whatever it is). He should have a black door off a 93. And then swap everything over to the new door. (power mirror, speaker, power window, and door panel)

Update: I found out by the plate who it was that hit me....NYPD tow truck. So basically I'm fucked. No witness. I'm just going to drop it and keep my eye out for a new door.

 

John, I have two doors here from the last car I parted. They are completely gutted but are black. They're not the prettiest things but don't have any dents. Pay shipping and it's yours. Let me know.

Edit: The pass door has a small quarter size dent right above the body line below the door handle. Can be easily fixed.

I feel ya man. My car got hit at a bar a few weeks after I bought it. A SUV backed into the rear fender. There was a witness who got his tag number, color of the car and a good look at the driver. The cops went to his house and verified the damages and told him that he had to appear in a line up. I thought I was going to win but the ******* witness wouldn't even try to pick him out. The cop told him to just pick one but he was afraid of picking the wrong guy. What a *****. About two weeks later my roommate backed into my car and chipped a basketball sized chunk of paint off of the bumper!! He said he wasn't going to pay because I should have bought a bigger car. Then to top things off I bought a 1000rr yesterday and his girlfriends puppy jumped all over it. That little bastard scratched all the lower fairings and the front fender. His excuse this time was why did you park the bike here when you know there was a dog at the house. If I'm not on here for a while it's BC I'm doing 10-20 for manslaughter. Whew.........It feels good to get all that out.

 

Other people are just ******* tards. I haven't caused a scratch to any car I've owned nor have I ever done that to a stranger's car because I'm not ******* blind or braindead.
