They have a setup like this at the superbike races at Road America every year, definitely a favorite of all the stuntaz there.

So... is it a dyno, or just a thing to do stationary wheelies on?

That is pretty cool I think. One thing I could never do is intentionally bring the front wheel up (and keep it there) on my bikes. I'm a weinee.

but does it work as a trainer considering the rear axle is bolted to the frame, there is no side-to-side movement to try to control

No wonder people think Miata owners are gay.

We have people having trouble getting it up and keeping it straight, and Koto is a dick... good crowd.

Its kinda like a bike on a tread mill. Its pivots on the back wheel but wheel is on a tread mill.

Remember the plane on the belt thing......lets not go there again!

+1

Might be cool to try...

I thought I would have the front in the air ALL THE TIME when I got a literbike, but it's really more tear on the bike than I thought it would be or cared to dole out all the time. Cool to try once or twice, dumb to pull one on every straight section of road you find. I actually had more fun learning how the keep the front wheel DOWN under full throttle coming out of a sweeper.
