Default Hates His Job

Posted on our local street racing forum. You have to know John. He is a redneck in the truest form. He's the service shop manager for one of those little small town Chevy dealers in a town of 1,000 people that sells a dozen cars a year. Even though there is one spelling error and one punctuation error, it's one of the most coherent posts he has ever made. The last line just struck me as really funny.

That's pretty good.

Today is my last day at this job. I've worked here night shift, weekends, every other day around classes, and during breaks, all around school, for 4yrs. I finally decided I need to concentrate on school for a semester of hard classes, and not working for the first time in my life since 15yrs of age.

This may or may not have to do with the crappiest couple of months I've had at any job. My boss won't give me projects, but goes ballistic when I look for work (helping people out). He won't stand up for me, and makes me look bad in front of the COO. It's all because he doesn't pay attention to my workload, even though I give him updates, so when the COO asks how our tapping center setup or Chinese vendor drawings are going, he has no idea. So he looks bad, and gets mad at me. He's taken to calling me "stupid Aggie", which I don't appreciate. I've told him, and he just said..."aww, am I giving you complex?"

He also called me a lazy bastard, despite me doing everything he asks me as soon as he asks me, as well as taking my own initiative in projects. The other day we were moving office furniture, and he came out while I was walking down stairs with a file cabinet, at the bottom end, and asked us to stop. He said "Look, Damon's actually working!...wow, you're sweating, when was the last time that happened?" Then pulled out his camera and started to take a pic saying he was going to show it to my wife (who runs inventory). I almost punched him. Worst part is all of these insults were in front of at least two other coworkers each time.

Thing is, his boss, the COO, always talks to me nicely, and our correspondence and meetings always go well. All of this started when he griped out my boss for not knowing where I was on projects, and why I didn't have enough work. I've asked him and asked him for work for months, and he doesn't even talk to me. I'm pretty sure he's just irate that he was made to look bad on my account....but you can only be as good as your manager allows you to be sometimes.

I might have some things to say on my way out, but I may keep it simple like John here. Strangely elegant way to express his feelings.
