or other cars in mind would be an E36 3 series, E30 3 series, early 90s 5 series, if i can find one, a Datsun 510 wagon. a nice late 60s early 70s datsun z. You get where im going with this. Im looking at early 90s and older cars that are RWD and dont take much to be a bad *** car. (not necessarily fast) If its emissions exempt its even better!
What are some other options out there that are not to hard to come by?

I know I will
but its just a car and I can alway start another undertaking once im settled out in Cali. There is some talk of the car going to a local as a whole. I just have more important things to worry about right now than a toy...

If you want a project just keep your current car.
Nothing more gay than abandoning a project for another midway through.
If you want a reliable daily commuter for when you move out here than that's a different story. But old bimmers are NOT that. You want a civic or corolla to putt around in til you get on your feet.

We had a 510 and it was a ton of fun. We swapped a 2.0 out of a nissan truck into it and that little bugger screamed. Of course it also smoked like a train and eventually locked up, but it sure was fun while it lasted.

That Volvo is kinda sexy! lol
It wont be another project car, the most i will do to another car is eventually basic wheels, suspension and exhaust. as well as fix minor imperfections. I will end up getting another miata and start fresh after i settle in and get on my feet.
the reason why im considering doing this is just buying a one way ticket there and buying a car out there. It would save me time and money by not having to ship a car/waste money on driving out there.

My buddy got this one from some old man for $200. The timing chain on the original motor was about to go and it made all kinds of crazy noises. I've casually looked at 510s on ebay and craigslist and its amazing how expensive most of them are now.
