Hot chicks that are into cars are rare. Hot chicks that are into cars and hang out on internet forums are even more rare. So it's a safe bet, without reading a single post from her, that she is not attractive. Just the facts of life. Yes, there are rare exceptions, but, well, they're rare.

 

Women into cars are rare, period. Were I in Hyper's position, I'd offer to help the girl out. If she was a no go, well then at the least I'd have a friend who might have some hot friends that she can introduce me to. And really...worst case scenario is some chubby sex you can't tell anyone about.

I'd also argue that your worst case is far from the worst case. I propose alternate worst case(s) would be A) getting some form of STD, B) her winding up preggers and/or C) picking up a whacko stalker.

They're out there, they're just not common. Then again, guys who actually know what they're doing with their car aren't all that common, either. So it would stand to reason that the subset of the population that is into cars, knowledgeable about cars, female and attractive would be fairly small.

I have gotten past the "want to find a girlfriend that's into cars so I can brag to my friends how cool she is" thing. While my girlfriend is into cars, she's not into them nearly as much as I am. She wouldn't spend all day at a dyno shop, and she wouldn't want to spend a day helping me with a car project (well, she would, if I asked, but I wouldn't ask. I don't like help.) That's alright. I have my hobbies and she has hers, and as long as she doesn't bug me all the time about it, (like previous girlfriends) it's cool.

 

Yeah, they are out there. I was engaged to one for a while, but unfortunately she was too much like your option C listed above (she went whacko and refused help, and thankfully I live too far away now to be stalked).

It is frustrating that there aren't many women into technical things...cars, engineering, computers, etc. I look at some of my friends' relationships and wonder how they can put up with girls who can't even help themselves if they were to get a flat tire on their way to practice their only hobby...shopping.
