A set of momo starts or a torsen swap for my 90 and be that much closer to boosting?

torsen.

if you have the stock 1.6 rear in your 90, it's only a matter of time once you apply boost.

not having nice seats won't leave you stranded on the side of the road, if you see what i mean.

Torsen swap. Your gonna need it. You don't 'need' the seats as much to boost.

I would get a torsen before i would be boosting either way its just that i cant decide on my next purchase, and yes i assume i have a stock 1.6 rear end since its never been changed and its not a torsen :(

stock seats are fine...

My torsen made the car so much more fun NA...I can only imagine being open, or with the 1.6 boosted.

just shave the foam from your drivers seat for now, it will make a world of difference

I did remove the back padding which led to slightly more side bolstering is this what you mean by "shave"

I have an open 4.30 swap with early axles if you're interested. Shipping will suck though.

actually I just got a phone call from my parts guy. I now have 2 4.30 torsen swaps for sale. lol.

For the record, I vote torsen as well.

As for the stock seats, you can remove the back padding as you have done to make the bolsters a little more supportive, and you can remove the bottom seat cover and remove some foam (on the part you sit on top of) to lower yourself a bit as well. Usually, people do this to try to meet the broomstick rule at the track.

I have my second track day jan 2nd and third track day jan 11th, This is why i cant make a decision.

I also need to get a passenger side 5 point harness for the = or better safety for instructors.

Personally... I'd build a pool of funds til I found the appropriate item on craigslist or some local board. If a pair of seats pops up for like 200 bucks.. I'd get them.. if the Torsen pops up for like 500.. I'd get that. My opinion is biased though because I'm a craigslist prostitute who paid 500 total for seats and torsen

if you're turbo currently , do the swap over the seat. Don't buy the slider, just get some metal stock and bolt it to the floor. The seating position is awesome this way, and you're head won't stick out the top.

If still at stock power and can shift softly, then do the seat...but even with stock power the 6" ring is living on borrowed time and borrowed money

the stock seats suck (i have taken the foam out of both parts) i was sliding all over the car while at NHIS. After that 2 day event my back/legs/arms were sore granted I’m 6'3 and i cant have my arms in the correct position and have my feet on the pedals so i had to compromise. I have never been sore like that after driving my dads car with cobra imola 2 gt seats and 6 points.

that being said you can drive away in pain you cant drive away with a blown dif.

Stock seat is "fine" if you are using a 5/6pt harness. As long as you have it tight I can't see how you would be slinding around.

Buy the diff, a one tire fire is no fun when turbo or NA.
