Hennessy SRT530 Jeep
When the hell did that happen? I pulled an order for a Jeep Cherokee to have snow tires mounted. I think to myself, "have SUV's become such pavement queens they need snow tires too?". Turns out to be a black Hennessy SRT530. Low production, 530hp 530tq. It has a sweet looking polished intake manifold. Why anyone would ever drive that in the snow is beyond me.
The customer flew out of our parking lot down the street, damn that thing was fast. It's weird to see such a big truck go like that.
This month has been CRAZY. There are 3 high end exotic car dealers down the street from my shop, they bring their cars by to top off the air pressure before a test drive. We had a Gallardo, Ferrari 575, Lotus Elise, Audi R8 and a Maserati MC12R come in. We just check air pressure, but still. Just to see these cars in person is awsome. One of them had an Enzo for a day, they drove it up and down Woodward maybe 5 times. I only drove the Jeep maybe 20' and never sat in the other cars, I'm hoping one day though....

yea its neat to see them in person, a friend of mine work for a high line dealer, i go see him sometimes there, wont let me drive anything though
i also see lots of high end cars in my office park, same guy owns a DB9, ZO6, Continental GT, a lime green Gallardo (ew), and some others, but i caught him walking around my miata a few times looking though my hood and up in the wheel well i guess to check my suspension...i though it was funny

This Jeep looked like a stock SRT besides the engine and the badges. I have heard of, but not seen, someone local took 3 Trailblazer SS, cut them up into a 2 door chopped top and sectioned truck. Put it over an s-10 frame with a custom tube frame for the rest of it. 11" slicks and it is an auto-x truck. Seems like a waste of time to me, but if you want to auto-x an SUV I guess that is what it takes.
I don't think I would spend that kind of money on a Jeep though. I don't care much for strait line speed, I'd rather have a well rounded performer. It was still a pretty cool looking truck. It sounded awsome too. I'm not sure what a stock SRT exhaust looks like, but the truck had a polished stainless exhaust with the stock center exit. One of the few cars I have heard that actually sounded intimidating, not just loud.
