Default hidef 720p "track cam" for $130

Good deal for a cheap in-car cam with excellent rez - no fancy features you don't need for track video.

Get it from your local Target. This way you have 90 days return no questions asked ...

It was over $200 at target AFTER the last sale. Don't know what it is now. I've never had an issue with cc.com... ymmv.

Huh? I got it from there last October or November and it was $130 or less back then (don't remember the exact number, but IIRC MSRP was under 150, and on sale it was under $130). Same was at Best Buy but Target had better return policy. I doubt it is over $200 now since Aiptek's suggested retail price has been under $200 for a looong time (over 6 months) ...
Most likely you've been looking at some other Aiptek camcorder (i.e. GO-HD or something else)

Aiptek A-HD = $150 @ target: http://www.target.com/Aiptek-Camcord...Aaiptek&page=1

According to the specs on Aiptek's website however, the camera's native recording format is .MOV (Apple Quicktime). That's kinda FTL, considering that almost all of their other units do MPEG layer 4. The GO-HD is the exception, it also uses .MOV, which makes me wonder why they chose to switch formats for the HD stuff...

edit: I see that at least they include a Media Player Decoder, so it's not a total loss. So long as you can use that codec outside the bundled editing app, I could live with it.

It was $140 at Xmas on sale. Went back a week later to get another and it was $190.

I don't think the .mov is an issue for windows users since there's QTalternative for viewing (other than apple) and sourceforge as various free options for getting other formats from the h.264 mov file.
