Default Hmmm...Thinking Swap

I just talked to the guy. It runs good but 178K miles. Good body. I could probably part out and recoup my $500. Swap candidate for my other 99.

Pat, don't read...your head will explode from the lack of grammar and sentence structure.

One thing for those in the know...he says that he thinks the cats are plugged. He drove it and it started losing power. Looked under the car and he said the cats were glowing red. He let it cool off and when he started it again he could hear stuff (catalyist) rattling around. Sound reasonable or other issues???

Also, when I talked to him again, he said it smokes a bit at startup but goes away. So, rings or valve seals?

That's what happened on my old Dodge truck. Wouldn't pull itself up a hill. Rodded the cat out and have been driving for two years. That's what I was hoping it was.

It's snowing like a bitch here, so maybe go look at it with the trailer Sunday. My other dilema is $500 as is or $700 with a title. I'll wait until I see it. Might be a decent flipper come spring.

ask for the vin so you can go to the police station to try and see if the car has been reported stolen first.

He has the title from the purchase. He never titled it and is just completely out of cash, so it's $500 without title or $700 with title so he can pay the $175 sales tax and $20 for the new title. I'm leaning towards paying the extra $200 so that I have a titled car, even if I do part it out.
