How unsafe is it in Haiti now?
Not safe at all in normal times. When the earthquake took place, all the guys who were in jail flew the coop. Imagine your worst scenario; it won't describe what you'll find.

Send me a pm and I'll give you my cel and home phone numbers. I live in the neighboring country. We share the island with them.

Do you have a gmail account? Or a bb?

I PMd you about my brother. Remember, he was in a place where there were lots of Americans with machine guns. The locals would have been on their best behavior around him. There weren't exactly a lot of GIs getting mugged.

Back before this event happened there were people that would gladly shoot you or shank you for $20 depending on where you happened to be. I'm sure the situation has greatly improved since all public services and security have been disrupted.

If your not careful, it will be a once in a lifetime event. This is one of the worst times in Haiti's history. People will do crazy **** when they're desperate. If you go, watch your gear and your *** while your there or I can go with and watch it for you.

I would not go unless I could carry an assault rifle.

When my dad was in the Army and in Haiti something like 15 years ago he would never go anywhere without a pistol on him and usually had a rifle within a few seconds of his hands at all time.
