How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways
Strange to be a normal member after being a supporting member for years...ads, PM box full, and no access to 1337. But I is a super brokedick lately and $3 makes a difference to me now :(
An old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake.
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, “Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?”
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.
In a very deep, husky voice, a woman next to him says, “Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things:
1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
2. The bouncer is a blonde girl.
3. I’m a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.
5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy. Do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?”
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, “No … not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.”

So since Dec 27th when our open enrolment closed, I've been trying to get a hold of our HR Benefits Coordinator to make sure they actually added my wife to my health insurance. No one at the front desk in HR could tell me, and told me to call homeslice directly. He was not returning my voicemails or emails, and I know he was receiving them. How do I know? Because I have admin rights to both our phone switch and email servers. So if he wouldn't voluntarily call me back, I figured I'd make him call me back. I think you know where this is going...
What's that adage about absolute power? Something about getting the job done?
- I locked his local system & network logins
- I locked his email account
- I locked his VPN account
- I locked his smartphone
- I blocked his ability to make outside calls from his desk

Reed Switch Information
This is random, but does anyone have experience with reed switches? I want one that can utilize a relatively small (tic tac sized) magnet and be activated from ~.5 inches away with a quarter inch of aluminum between the mag and switch. I know the lower the AT number is the more sensitive it is, but I have no idea how to translate that to a rough distance. They're cheap, but nowhere around me keeps them in stock so I'd like to calculate what I need instead of using trial and error.
1-pole (bad)
2-pole (good)
Next, the info at KJ will show you how to get a feel for magnet strength, and is a source. If you do find a magnet that works, but not at 1/2", then you can use the website to get a feel for what bigger magnet you may need.
Website
Picture: On the above website, click on the "see the magnetic field" icon for a feel for the flux density from different magnets.
I don't know if this will be of any big help, but, at the least, minimize iterations.
Regarding the Aluminum, it will not affect anything.

Is the guy not in the same building? Could you have gone to see him in person?
Do you have a boss?

Nothing changed, that was never my goal. In fact, my goal was to get confirmation before my wife walked into the dentists office today to deal with a possible abscess/extraction situation. As of Jan 1 we are now a single income household. I prefer to not have crazy coverage snafus at the moment. I tried approved channels and got no responses, so I got creative.
No, he is in another state at the moment. He one of those "oh, I didn't get the message, must be something wrong with my (laptop/cellphone/voicemail/email)" guys.

Everyones management style is different. If my boss had told me not to do it, I obviously wouldn't have done it. I guess it probably helps that I answer to a VP.
Plus we are on the west coast, things are more laid back here. Relax bruh
