We have some seriously skilled mechanics at our heavy equipment dealership and one of the best had a Winn-Dixie shopping cart for a tool box. He doesn't work for us anymore, but the SOB was intuitive as hell with diagnostics. He had little hooks welded on the outside of every wire on the cart where all of his wrenches would hang, and several places had one above another. He had stacked metal boxes inside it with everything else. Really eccentric but pretty cool. People joked a bit when he started but that **** stops quick when you do your job well and you are friendly and conversational to everyone. It is actually more about being openly friendly than proving yourself. If you are likeable people will give you the benefit of the doubt more than if you are quiet (hint, hint, Jesse) .
I don't see where spending $6,000 on a toolbox (a metal box that keeps tools off the floor) makes any sense when you can do the same thing for $600-800. The ************ doesn't make you any more money. And in the same vein, I've seen Snap-On, SK, MAC, Craftsman, and Harbor Freight tools break and some that have lasted 20+ years. I've done a helluva lot of wrenching with $2 sockets and $28 sockets and I can tell you once the engine or transmission is out on the ground it doesn't know which one was used to remove it. Buy the Chinese tools and put the money in your pocket. They won't pay you less for using them.
The Snap-On guy in Tampa that calls on our shop purportedly makes $140k a year because he is selling tools at a reasonable mark-up. Right?

I don't profess to be a videogame expert by any stretch, but my general understanding is that the selection of "grown up" games for the Wii is pretty limited. You won't be finding Call of Duty XII (or whatever new shoot-em-up title the fanboys are preening over this week) for it.
For group gaming, the various Wii sports (and similar) packages are pretty cool. My sister has several of those titles along with four controllers, and any time I'm back home to visit, they're fun to play with 2-4 people, ranging from my parents to my 5 year old niece. (Rather annoyingly, she usually obliterates me at Tennis. I think that's probably one of the signs that you have officially become old.)
As a solo activity, the only console games I've really enjoyed during the past 15 years have been the various Guitar Hero / Rockband titles. Those two series have been around long enough that you can pick up both a controller and the games fairly cheaply from Fleabay and from places like Gamestop.
Apart from that, the new Super Mario title is actually pretty good. If you liked the original, you'll probably like the new one- they've very much gone back to their roots.

Well, like I said, it's for the kid. He's currently playing Lego Harry Potter, and it's actually kind of interesting. Wife wants Guitar Hero, but I have no interest in that whatsoever.
I just want a shooter of some sort, and was looking for advice. I think I'll go pick up whatever Call of Duty version they have on the used rack and give it a shot.

Sitting here at SAN waiting for a flight, and I overheard a rather interesting conversation between a TSA agent and parties unknown via her cell phone.
The following is a complete transcription from the start of the call until she wandered out of earshot:

Hi, Gary?
(...)
Yeah, she just texted me about the goat.
(...)
I just need it in portions I can put in my freezer.
(...)
I don't need the head, but I need the tongue, I'd like the stomach.
(...)
Ok, and like all the organs and stuff, I want all those.
(...)
Yeah, everything that's good.
(...)
I just can't stick the whole goat in my freezer, you know, whole.

In other news, Forza Motorsport 4 is set to be released October 11th, 2011.
Is it just me or does it seem like Forza 3 just came relatively recently?
