If someone slamming on the brakes makes you hit them, it's obvious you were following far too closely.

Eh, yes and no. When traffic is heavy sometimes it's hard to leave an appropriate following distance. If you back off a number of car lengths, people in adjacent lanes just dive in front you and you end up 10 feet behind another car anyway.

You have to be more aware of what's going on. If someone cuts me off, my first instinct is to quickly slow down. This is likely from tens of thousands of miles on motorcycles. Where you literally have to take the attitude that "everyone is intentionally trying to kill me." |
Is being angry worth the inconvenience and real loss of damaging your vehicle? How about when they get a settlement of 30-50k for neck pain?

Exactly why i run a dash cam, and gopro when i ride.

How about the SJ5000

We just finished the "route 66 challenge" at work. Fitness program where you log your steps with this cheap pedometer. Not only did I lose 9 pounds, I won the random drawing of a $100 visa card! Woot!

We had a biggest loser contest at my old job. It was based body weight percentage lost. Winner received $200-250 cash or something. I entered and came in 3rd, not because I wanted to loose weight, but I wanted the cash. Unfortunately I lost to some fat fucks who had more to possibly loose. I was down 13-15% body weight, but was to skin and bones.

it's pretty easy to win those contests if you're thin. just eat a big meal, drink a lot of water, dont piss or shit all day on the day it starts.
do the opposite plus do a sweat jog at weigh out on the last day. |
They ran that thing at my old job too. Yeah the winner would eat garbage all year and then starve him self after that.

Who knew a lightning bug (aka firefly) had such a vivid color palette?
Only learning this because my wife wouldn't let my son be a Cardinal (bird) for halloween due to emotional distress caused by the Washington Nationals performance in some playoff game over a year ago. The bug: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1445892616 The costume parts: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/o-...T=w472-h838-no yes, I used a firefighter hat. |
Biggest loser starts in January. Last time (2 years ago), there was a guy that was nearly passing out at work because he was literally starving himself. But they are closing that division, and he will no longer be employed at that time.
Last time they did it, I lost 21 pounds, and was at a pretty healthy weight. Then the back problems started and I gained all of it back and more. I hope to use it as incentive to get back down to a better weight and maintain it this time. |
Vote needed on the direction i need to take. My wife's protege has eaten yet another right side wheel bearing. Early proteges used only one wheel seal on the inside. Some suffered water damage to the wheel bearing causing mazda to redesign the knuckle. Starting with MY 2003, they no longer use any wheel seals and a slight channel was cast to direct water away.
Supposedly, the oem bearing is sealed and the problem is fixed on MY 2003+. The water cant sit inside the wheel seal any longer and will drain out the channel. Pictures of the oem bearing look no different than the parts store timken or national brand. I have located a complete 2003 knuckle locally at a pick and pull. It has high miles, so i am assuming it will require a wheel bearing change. I want to replace the knuckle just in case it is bent or out of round. Wife hit a curb on that side years ago, which got the replacements started. So what is my question you say? I dont fucking know. Keep original knuckle, replace bearing, seal and cv half shaft so that it has a known good water tight seal? Replace with used 2003 knuckle, replace bearing (oem or auto parts store?) And run no seal? |

Unrelated: Apparently, toe-shortening is the latest fad in elective cosmetic surgery. If you are one of the billions of people whose second toe is slightly larger than the bog toe, and therefore suffer from crippling embarrassment when you wear sandals, you can have a surgeon open up your toes and cut out a slice of bone from the middle, then stitch them back together. As someone who involuntarily underwent surgery to piece the bones in my right hand back together a year and a half who, this sounds like a terrible, awful decision to me. |
He or she just needs to wear socks with their sandals. That will eliminate the embarrassment from having the second toe longer than the big toe.
The Major Payne method of dealing with the problem. |
Or lengthen big toe and get bigger penor?
