Perez thinking about Nazca lines?

I don't have a fully catalyzed idea yet. I don't suggest doing a knock-off of something that's already been done.

I was thinking more along the lines of: Construct a very solid hatch which appears to lead downwards, but of course there's nothing actually below it. Erect a chain-link fence around it, topped with razor wire, some security-cameras (bonus points if they actually work via 3G or similar), and solar-powered lights which switch on automatically at sunset. No signage at all.

And park an air-force-blue Suburban inside the fence.

maybe a simple embossed logo in the hatch like one of these:

Under the hatch, use rocks to spell out "DEEZ NUTS" directly on the ground.

1: Does the relevant governing body realize that you owe taxes on the land, and if so, have they made any effort to collect?

2: Hypothetically speaking, how much time & money would you be willing to invest in an elaborate practical joke which would likely be seen / appreciated by very few?

I have this sign sourced from a location I know nothing about.

y8s, I'd say if it's that cheap to keep, even though it may not be super valuable at the moment, I'd be inclined to keep it.

And I literally have no reason other than, "just because."

$400 is nothing. I spent half of that taking our big dog to the vet today to find out she hookworms, which is why she vomited/shat herself in crate yesterday when I was at work.

Any mineral rights to sell/lease?
Conversely, some states offer a tax write off if you agree to preserve the land for habitat. I see that some of the soda lake is designated bird sanctuary.

A friend of mine used like to occasionally answer his phone with "station 123, this is not a secure line."

That is a fairly common sign. The directive dates go way back, and they generally do not change. Used by all the Services.

During an exercise, from the Command Post, I once made a call and said "This is a Blue Level 7 Alert. Do you recognize my voice?" My commander did not think it was as funny as I did.

Yes. With no writing on the sides, and out-of-state plates. And a couple of short whip antennas on the roof.

I'd avoid any symbology which a person might be able to find online. If you wanna really stoke the conspiracy nuts, I'd maybe do a sign along the lines of:

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f8e04d61e2.png

My thinking is this:

The first line is a shorthand of the first three digits of the lat & long of the site. Once a conspiracy nut notices this, they'll think "Ah HA! I've cracked the first part of the code!"

Then they'll flail away on the second line, which is just random gibberish.

When I get a call from what I suspect is a spoofed number, I tend to answer the phone "Master Control," in my serious, gravelly voice, after a pause until I hear the click letting me know that someone has picked up.

Mostly because, in my line of work, Master Control is a legitimate room in which I'm actually likely to be, so if it turns out to be a legit business call, I can say I was expecting a callback from someone else.

If it's a telemarketer, it does tend to throw them off a bit.

16 ml, doesn't sound or seem like a lot of liquid..............until you're trying to give your 72 lb pit/lab mix medicine.

These are all fun ideas and once I have the deed, you're all welcome to submit ideas for doing crazy shit on "my" land but be aware that it will be non-funded by the landowner.

Anyone see the movie Excursion? Watched it last night. It was strangely entertaining.

How much flat black spray paint is required to cover 2.5 acres?

Maybe that. Maybe a ziploc bag containing this record:
