Its funny to watch them be astonished that a miata can keep up.

Everyone doesn't buy cars for trap speeds. If you pass a ferrari (or viper) in a ragady *** DYI miata, I find it hard to believe you prefer the miata....most people that say **** like that never drove or had thei *** in the seat of said car they think is not worth it, or you know you will never afford one so you make excuses

agreed on the surprise part....I used to work in granite bay california, all doctors and lawyers, and see those things on a regular basis. Id cruise up to one, tell him he's got a nice ride and he'd just smirk at me. Then when I would pace him he'd step on the gas and laugh at me expecting to leave me in the dust. Then he'd **** bricks with astonishment when id be next to him

not everyone is a ******* douchebag and wants a viper. Some people prefer cheaper cars not because they cant afford expensive, but because they find it unnecessary. remember that.

I've driven plenty of faster cars. i would prefer my miata over a viper for the sheer fact about gas. and the fact that its 80k. my friends dad has a viper i've been in it several times.have you ever tried to change oil in one of those? its not that much fun.

And i would love to have one. I just would never BUY one. winning/getting a gift/ stealing one, i'd keep it then. lol

i would never drive an expensive car at the track, I'm too cheap. If I put the miata on its roof, i can drop $2k and have another one the next day. I know several people who I've met in really nice or expensive cars, and many of them I see again in miatas.

If I were going to spend money on something for the track, it would be a retired racecar. You're right though, if I could afford a 430 scud as a throw away car, I'd have that at the track too. I'd have to make about $10,400,000.00 per year though to keep the current income/track car spending ratio. Actually, if I were bringing in $11 mil per year, you can bet your *** I'd roll around the track in a f430scud...****, I might just have to buy a Pratt-Miller c6r to play with. I'm sure as **** going to take a chopper to the track too...oh, and pay off my student loans to boot!

i will come out and say that every viper owner/driver I've ever met was a raging douchebag, with no exceptions.

My personal favorite Viper experience occurred at MSR-C. I returned from my session to find that not only did some douche bag in a red viper park in my spot, right in front of my tool bag, jack, and cooler, but the son of a bitch parked on my "work on the car matt". So what do you do in a time like this??? Double-park, leave the car in gear (too hot for e-brake), roll up the windows, lock the doors, then go to your buddy's villa and chill for 2 hours until the next session and watch a grown man cry like a ------ while he misses his run group.

He appoligized when I walked up. I politely said, "I'd appreciate it you'd let me remove my matt from under your car before you drove over it again."

Well, actually, considering that I'm 7' tall and a professional body builder/powerlifter/mercenary, he just apologized and let me borrow his supermodel girlfriend, who I'd already slept with a few times (Heidi Klum). Actually, I think it was Flavio Briatore.

I met a douchebag in a bar in Chicago who told me he raced vipers. So we talked for a moment, he realized that I'm that 2% the population who actually goes to the track when I started asking him questions...and yeah, if he had a viper, he has never seen a racetrack in his life. He learned how to race by taking corners fast on the street, but couldn't remember the local track name that he goes to all the time, "autobahn country club." He also didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Pretty awesome guy if you ask me.

I should also note that the Viper owner members at MSR are the ones who complain about "all the miatas holding me up." Its also notable that the same miatas that were holding him up happened to hold the lap record at MSR on the 3.1, one of them was the principle instructor of the facility, and the other owned the driving school and was faster in his turbo maita than in his Gallardo.

I don't really care for viper owners...but if I ever meet a cool one I'll let you guys know.

Also have never met a viper owner that was a decent guy. One dude in my area has "vette killer" on his rear glass.... No **** sherlock, until recently, corvette couldn't compete stock for stock in a straight line. All this dude does is drive around revving his engine and being a douche.

That said.... I want a viper badly, and it would probably bring out my inner douche if I ever had one...

Id own that new ACR. Funny thing is, the viper engine weighs in at 1/3 a Miata. Almost 700lbs!

Nobody gives a crap about your old fat *** or your overweight Viper, I owned a Porsche when I was 19. But I am also on turbo Miata number 3 and actually do prefer them over a 91 Guards Red Porsche 911 C2. I miss the classy aspect of the Porsche, but I'm not afraid to wreck my Miata and it's easier to work on. I will buy a Exige S or Cayman in a few years, both of which will hang with a Viper on most tracks. Vipers have a big motor because they are overweight pigs, not because they are nice cars.

Has anyone here ever taken an aspirin and ventured over to the MSM forums?

Enough said.

I was wondering if I was the only person who caught the irony of MSM guy calling the Viper owner a ***.
