Default Hyper just heard about the existence of Water Injection

I took him so long to to hear about the existence of water injection ...

Should we expect the "wholy" grail of water injection now?

It is called meth injection if you are injecting meth.

If you're using a mixture of meth and water, can you call it WmAeTtEhR?

Because its the water thats acting as an anti-detonated, the methanol/ethanol is just increasing the volatility.

Its like calling a turbo a "exhaust back pressure generator"
lol

Also, since everybody calls it "meth injection", people are starting to beleive that that is what it is, just pure meth injection.
I cnat tell you how many times Ive talked about possibly doing a water injection setup only to be met with the reply of "Why would you inject water?" or "Dont you mean meth injection?"

Maybe Im just obsessive about semantics...

I keep forgetting that some people still use water.

I guess. If you are taking the alchohol into account in terms of tuning your AFR, such that you are essentially substituting some alcohol for some gasoline, then you can definitely say that the alcohol is an antidetonant. Its basically semantics. Alcohol is a darn sight less volatile than pretty much any gasoline we run on a regular basis anyway. And one way or the other it is being injected. Lots of people seem to like pure methanol injection because with its ability to evaporate so easaly you can inject a much higher volume before hitting quench raltive to water or a mix. You also run pig rich, or run with a tune dependent on it, use a ton of fluid, pay more for fluid, risk fire issues, etc. But it does work well to cool IATs and it pretty well eliminates detonation even if you go way beyond MBT.

Pretty much everyone refers to it as water/meth or water/meth injection as far as I can see.

What about if we just inject a fuel. Say, gasoline, for instance. We can use a regular stock injector, but we need something to control it. How about a piggyback, like a powercard?

Dayam, I'm a freaking genius!

Hyper just posted in my Build/Intro thread on club roadster

He says that my inline fuel pump (mounted behind passenger headlight) would explode like a grenade if I got in an accident...
