Are you running a thin oil? And pressure does increase with rpm, right? Oil pump failure is not unheard of, but certainly not common.

My needle is around the first mark at warm idle (I think it's labled "30") and the second mark under cruise ("60"). Running Mobil1 synthetic 10-30

Mobil 1 10W-30. Increases with RPM. Everything looks good other than it is 15 PSI less than you would think it should be. My guess (hope) is that it is just a gauge problem. We will find out in a while. You will definitely see someone do the hustle when I swap out gauges and it is still low since I have been running it like that for 3 years <G>. Since I haven't blown it up yet I have to assume it is gauge related.

maybe you have the world's only accurate miata op gauge? everyone else's actually reads 10-20 psi too high.

That oil pressure gauge has close to a quarter million miles on it. My guess is I am the one who is wrong <G>. I probably should have been more concerned with it years ago before I tortured the engine so much but I was too lazy to look at it.
