Default I drove a 68 XKE 800 miles on the PNW Coast

What a fantastic car. I've wanted one of these for 30 years. Still can't afford one, but I can rent one and beat the snot out of it for four days Other than burning like 8 quarts of oil in 800 miles it met every expectation I had. If you live in the Seattle area you have no excuse not to visit "The Shop" and rent something from Brooke Stabbert for the day. We used driveshare app to rent the E-Type. He has a S2000 swapped MG TF?, Cobra rep, XKE, and a couple air cooled 911's. Anybody got an E-Type for sale?

If you live in Seattle, this is The Shop.

More surprised it ran for 800 miles than anything. But interesting, never heard of them before!

Yeah I kind of was too. Not that the Jaguar 4.2 is a bad motor, but the car had sat for 30 years before this guy bought it on bring a trailer. He had owned it for 9 months at this point and had only put like 300 miles on it, all in town.

Very cool that you could rent one like that - I’ve also wanted one for as long as I can remember.
A friend in West Virginia has one, used it to make a grand exit from his wedding. He sent me pictures of him and the best man with the hood(?) up trying to figure out what’s wrong while his wife stands there in her wedding gown all pissed off. They were late to the reception.

My first job was at a british car shop, and by the time I left I was so tired of pushing e types around, I never wanted to see another hahaha

Of course, those feelings passed quickly. Such a beautiful car, and I'd love to take one (that wasn't mine) on a trip like that. Sounds like a blast.

My mom's boyfriend bought one in Portland a number of years ago, flew my mom out, and they drove it back down 1 all the way to his home in San Diego. I think the only issue they had on the trip was replacing a flat tire.

I’m the only car guy in the world that thinks e types are ugly.
