FWIW, he also claimed 153hp / 98tq at 6200RPM. He couldn't explain that the math didn't add up. 98rwtq = 115rwhp, but we have lots of videos of it idling.

cjernigan 09-10-2007 02:37 PM

He's so damn hard headed he had no clue. The idea is cool he's just too cheap and lazy to do it right. Hard way to learn simple basic of turboing a car.

Braineack 09-10-2007 02:49 PM

there's being cheap as hell like me, and then there's being a complete idiot.

spike 09-10-2007 02:50 PM

The amount of money he spent making "the worlds' most half ass turbo kit",he could have purchased a good quality used kit and be boosting safely.

Damn ricers.

cjernigan 09-10-2007 02:50 PM

Yeah there's always that, he is pretty damn stupid.

Brain, you should post this phrase on his thread on m.net.

Al Hounos 09-10-2007 02:54 PM

it was a retarded idea from the start, but he was gonna show all the doubters...

actually I'm annoyed he blew it up. i wanted him to get it running well and then dyno it and get..... 150whp and 98wtq.

When I first saw pictures of his "newly" devolped kit,I said to myself " that's gotta be the most half ass looking, mickey mouse built turbo kit I have ever seen in my life, that piece of shit would not last a drive around the block".

cjernigan 09-10-2007 02:56 PM

His charge piping was made of material similar to dryer duct, WTF.

Braineack 09-10-2007 02:58 PM

he said it was dynoed....but everyone asked for proof and he posted videos of it idling.

The only thing he proved to the doubters was that he confirmed he was mentally challenged and not plain stupid.

That's nothing, did you see pictures of the zip ties holding the turbo in place.

BTW I pretty sure the dryer duct was used for the exhaust side of the turbo.

magnamx-5 09-10-2007 04:00 PM

you guys are very mean.

Pitlab77 09-10-2007 09:09 PM

what did i miss?

MX_Eva 09-10-2007 09:20 PM

Wow...hilarious.

I've actually talked to a guy who was interested in rear mount..done correctly. Touching on issues like possibly having a remote oil reservoir just for the turbo (maybe a cooler on it??) and such. Much more intelligent approach.

Hell I'm cheap as a MoFo and I still see it as doing it the right way. I think thus far I've spent about....900 dollars odds and ends and I'm only finishing my turbo rebuild and getting my MS installed away from boost. I can get a exact amount for anyone who's curious to see where the money went.

Pitlab77 09-10-2007 09:26 PM

oh was that the guy posting on CR.net

y8s 09-10-2007 09:45 PM

that was the guy.

he's giving rear mounted turbos a bad name.

Al Hounos 09-10-2007 09:58 PM

did they need to be given a bad name? when you have a car with all the space you could possibly need for a turbo in the engine bay, why the hell would you do a remote mount?

the only reason for them is on a packed v8 engine bay, and even then they're pretty gay. put them in the front bumper or something.

Gloko 09-10-2007 10:40 PM

hahah...This why I keep all my Asshat ideas and moves to myself....granted I do some intense research before my asshatting begins....oh well. Hopfully he learned something and amused some people at the same time :)

Arkmage 09-10-2007 11:21 PM

Guys! Do you think my wife's 24 valve taurus can run a remote mount t-76 @ 35 psi on the stock injectors and timing? Will I have to run premium?

Oh... does anyone know what the pressure rating on that light weight racing dryer duct stuff is?

Thanks
