I want one of THESE!
it's a formula sae car with mirrors and street tires... there are several home built ones roaming the country as we speak (one is powered by a YZF-R1 motor, painted yellow, and has room in the sidepods for cargo).
Exactly what I was going to say, except FSAE cars are cheaper, and are probably faster and lighter
Just shortly after I retire from the Navy in about 15 years, my first big treat is going to be something ridiculously fast. I'm a big fan of Cobra replicas... Factory5 seems the be the way to go for the sub $30k market... but if I can ever afford one, this is my baby, hands down:

There is a company that imports them into the states.
If you haven't seen this, it's worth the ten minutes:

If it doesn't convince you, a quick defibrilation is in order.

Top Gear FTW and the Atom is such an amazing car.
I like the 2 seats, be cool to take people on rides in it. I mean it is a street car afterall with excellent track engineering.

+1 for the Atom. That way I can scare the crap out of my buddies
If you like the atom check out www.dpcars.net. He is building one around a Hayabusa based v8... He is also building the DP1 which will be amazing once he gets the new model up and running. I have spent countless hours reading what he has on that site.
