If that car is everything he says it is, I'd buy it and source a red trunklid. A nice, well-maintained Greddy Miata for $5k? Done.

 

At least he got the exhaust almost right...........

 

I'm with Savington. He appears to have done a great job with the maintenance (well.....at least to sell it). The wing is the only eyesore, though it's a big one.

 

Did you guys read the same ad I did?
He says that it's smog legal just because of the Mazda built another car with that motor that came turbo'd? HUH?
He bought it to "tear up" the neighborhood and doesn't even know what autocrossing is called.
He paid $500 too much for the turbo and paid somebody $250hr to install it.
He installed a 3" catback on a stock Greddy DP.
He's got a stupid ******* style bar.
The interior is totally sunbleached.
You know the Viscious dif is toast.
He doesn't know how many miles are on the SECOND MOTOR??? Who buys a car and doesn't know how many miles are on the motor?

And the best line of the whole ad: IT APPEARS TO NEVER HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT!

Sorry, it's a disaster... and it's $2k overpriced.

Yup, because you can buy turboed 1.6s for $3k all day long.

 

yeah, i caught that part too. i'll admit that line of reasoning made no sense.
seems he defined autocross pretty well to me. maybe i'm reading it differently though. hence him putting rollbar in quotes.i thought that was funny too. Translation: "It HAS been an accident, but it doesn't APPEAR to have been in one!"

Truth be told, i'm just giving you a hard time. the car isn't really all that bad though. I appreciate him being honest about not knowing the engine mileage than just saying "it has about 60,000 miles on it".

 

Anyone that has purchased a second hand motor. Who's to know, at least he's being honest.
