never had any luck with LC-1s. just had another one (1.1 firmware mind you) go out for lunch and never punch back in.

my techedge has never given me any problems. much more stable output vs the LC1 and same cheap sensor. I normally use 2J techedge units when the customer can wait, if we are in a hurry we usually just order up an LC1, and regret it later on.

Whether a product is good or bad is nearly irrelevant, many just follow what others in a forum do...

aem uses the same 40 dollar bosch sensor as the lc1

1) Fast reaction time
2) 2 programmable outputs
3) Digital connection to the PC to verify results
4) Gives out obvious error codes when something is wrong. Cable is broken/worn/cut? You'll get an error code. Sensor has gone bad or is overheating? You'll get an error code.
5) Can be daisy-chained to other Innovate dataloggers - in fact, I have 4 LC-1s and an LM-1 on my car (and a couple of other shit too - TC-4, LMA-2, LMA-3, DL-32, see my sig)
6) Cheap
7) Easy to install if you simply follow the instructions.
8) ACCURATE

Use a AEM
But if I were to buy a new one it would be though www.14point7.com

Dust 10-18-2010 06:57 AM

got a 14point7 on the way now. Sensor is $51 at advance auto parts, and with the P20 coupon the sensor picked up will be $30something dollars

# 20% off with code P20
# $25 off $60+ with code BIG25
# $30 off $75+ with code BIG30
# $50 off $200+ with code BIG50

You dont like the refresh rate of the AEM gauge?! lolz. Not to mention how ugly it looks.

it's a different connector and they are harder to source.

I bought the LC-1 mostly because it's cheap, accurate, fast, and has the dual programmable outputs. It's been on the car for 2.5 years and the only time it gave me trouble was when the display froze up from the sensor overheating during a track session. That's kind of my fault since I had it in the stock location in the OEM downpipe with no heat sink. When the turbo goes on it will be much farther downstream and will also have a copper plate heat sink, so I don't anticipate any trouble. I've been really happy with it overall.

I run a AEM no problems, I like it.

arctct 10-18-2010 12:38 PM

AEM; no issues or complaints.

Braineack 10-18-2010 02:01 PM

so you like your ugly gauge and slow ass refresh speeds and shitty conversion into megasquirt?

elesjuan 10-18-2010 08:15 PM

It was cheap and I Like buying pieces of shit...

rbluemx6 10-18-2010 08:27 PM

LC-1 problems = user error

I've had mine since 2006 and its been on two cars. Currently on my miata. Runs great on the original o2 sensor.

Cococarbine3 10-18-2010 11:04 PM

No problems here for 6mo. It was cheap, easy to install, and I like the adjustable refresh speeds and outputs. I'm using a $6 voltmeter for a gauge also.

Yes, I do. Point? :ky:

Braineack 10-19-2010 11:01 AM

that i HATE you.

TurboTim 10-19-2010 11:27 AM

I run the non-gage type AEM on my miata (obviously communicates with my AEM EMS fine) and the gage type in my subaru (serial out communicates with romraider fine). Gage type is limited to displaying 11.0:1 max rich though, that sucks.

I love you.

Is the refresh rate issue only for the display? Or for the input to the MS as well?

Also don't see the issue with the conversions in MS... if you are talking about the one time edit in the file...

Braineack 10-19-2010 11:50 AM

both.

Efini~FC3S 10-19-2010 01:29 PM

I've had a PLX m300 for years, have had it on multiple cars and it's currently waiting to go in the next turbo car. Never tried the LC-1.
