If you had the money, would you buy a cheeseburger
seriously. I'm hungry and I can't decide. I'd like a cheeseburger, but what about the environmental impact, I mean with all the methane that cows spew.
|
Burgers are the end all. Nothing gets better than a good damn juicy burger for me.
|
|
Five guys. Nuff said.

Once. Seriously, I don' understand how people can eat that stuff. I'm not saying that it wasn't tasty, but I felt ill afterwards. |
Five Guys sucks compared to Elevation Burger.
now im fucking hungry. great. |
Five Guys is fine. At least the two stores here are. Apparently it varies a lot by location.
Underrated: Whataburger. |
Five Guys is local to me, I've been eating them since forever.
it's not great. |
Smashburgers started opening up in my area....never again. Might as well have stayed home and made a salt sandwich.
|
Elevation Burger?

Still, there's something about In-n-Out. I can't explain it, they're just so damned tasty... https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1421604304 |
I've never been to In-n-Out, haven't ever even been to sonic. Five guys is like eating candy to me. That $hit is sofaking good. It's not even like you're eating a meal, it's more like eating birthday cake for lunch, which makes sense, cause after I eat it I feel like doing absolutely nothing the rest if the day. I'm not going to say their burgers are the best I've ever had, but those fries...a little ketchup, a lot of malt vinegar...heaven.

But yes, the answer is yes. Cheeseburger. |
I just got back from a 5 mile MTB ride. Yeah, I need a burger for real now.
|
i havent eaten since you first made this thread. I need a burger STAT.
|
Yeah how bout it...I might get 5 guys for supper, just cause of this thread.
|
I'm weird andfeel that Carl's Jr is better than all the aforementioned burger places. No fried burger for me, thanks. I'll take flame broiled.
|

I'm not advocating eating a website. Between carls jr and most of the overcooked patties posted so far and the website is probably still less disappointing, the bugers though are not even in the same league. |
Sounds like a greasy pornsite.
|
Yeah, I should've went with five guys. I went Cracker Barrel grilled catfish instead. Now my guts feel like I'm trying to digest broken glass.

I knew you had no taste, but I didn't know you were also 70. Congrats on living so long bro. |
I am never eating anything from there again. This is the second time I got sick eating their food. Just puked like 12 times. Cracker Barrel can Suck It.
|
I got my fix in.. Went to Wendy's and ordered son of a baconator. They were out of the meat, so gave me the baconator. I was shocked when it didn't suck. I liked it. could eat another.
|
I frequent the SmashBurger near me, pretty damn good burgers for the price.
Favorite place to get burgers for me would be RedRobins, whenever there is a toss up about where to go, it gets blurted out every damn time. |
Every time I've eaten at Red Robin I've been hugely disappointed. I really enjoyed restaurant burgers at Chili's and Hard Rock Cafe tho.

I ask to get my burgers "medium." Chili's doesn't seem to grasp the concept. |

I found out a long time ago that you can get your burger on a croissant at Red Robin. It makes them much better to get that instead of a normal bun.

in-n-out is pretty decent around here
yesterday I had the Carls Jr. "natural" 6 dollar burger not bad tbh |

Ate at Hardee's a couple times when I was back east. For some reason it didn't seem as good.
I had that new "natural" burger twice last week. I get it with no sauce then add their salsa (which is unfortunately kindof awful most of the time). Delicious. |
Hardee's is hit or miss. The one in St Paul is legit. However, stopped on my way though Iowa over Xmas and it was a burnt sandwhich. Really made me rethink stopping there in the future.
|
stop talking crappy fast food in this thread. because if that's the question, the answer is "NO".
unless i'm craving mcdonalds and then it's "5" |

I have never had in and out. Culvers and Five Guys though...

I don't consider In n out "crappy". And for the uninitiated, In n Out is essentially five guys without 400 lbs of grease. Small, cheap burgers with unslimed vegetables. The fries are also the opposite. Thin, light, will not turn your bag translucent. Main difference? If you ate 3 five guys burgers, you'd feel like you were fat and want to vomit and die. If you ate 3 In n Out burgers, you'd want to do donuts in the parking lot at sunset. |
I like the option of A1 dressing on my 5 Guys.
|
Pretty much every chain (fast food or otherwise) makes a crappy burger and it is sad that we have sunk so low as to crave them. The entire situation reminds me of pizza circa 2009. I just gave up on delivery pizza at that point.
If the patty is like 1/3" thick its garbage. Stay at home, throw a pre-made patty from COSTCO into a George Foreman and dress it up with some fixings. I make better fries in a pan than those tools do with a deep fryer. I went to a Red Robin and it was basically a Big Mac on a fancy bun with more crap on it including some onion straws and limp bacon. Same for a burger at Buffalo Wild Wings, which was a stupid idea in the first place. This place called MooYah was passable for a 6 dollar burger. I'll bet they have like 3 locations. Whataburger is better than most, but its still basically a smashed flat patty cooked in a nuclear blast. Honestly the last decent burger I did not make myself was in a Fricken Mimi's Café of all places. It had a patty that had not been made in the same machine that cuts out the dough for the buns. Meaning it was 5/8" thick or better. It actually had meat in it that was not the color and taste of cardboard. I swear I may have seen an actual drop of bloody juice from it. I could tell without looking that I was eating cow. A burger is supposed to taste like beef, not the crap you put on it. |

so I wanted to reduce the carb-to-meat ratio... but a Five Guys cheeseburger 3 patties thick is too hard to eat without it self-destructing. I think I did ok.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1422038039 It was almost spherical when I started. |
:barf:
I would. Seriously. |
Now I'm all hongry.

I would. Seriously. I'm on the 5x5x5guys weight training plan. Here's the scenario, except that the Fitness First is now a Gold's Gym: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2017.00.37.png |
There is a Five Guys on 3rd ave at 43rd street which I walk past nearly every day.
In the interest of science, I am going to give it a second chance. Burger only, no fries or soda. |
smart move. get them to give you a soda cup for water.

Being a guy from the west coast I miss In-N-Out bad, but Five Guys is the only thing close around here in the south. One day the wife will make it out west and realize what a good fast burger is. Until then The Pharmacy is awesome in Nashville. Not a chain place. Full of hipsters, but really, really, good burgers and etc. Great beer selection that changes and isn't just IPA's that taste like pee. It's the only place to go. . . other than when the wife makes burgers.

I guess it must be regional. When I was living out in Shreveport/Bossier the Whataburgers were intensely disappointing, and Red Robbin was just underwhelming.
The 5 Guys where I live now is reliably pretty tasty. Sometimes it's better than others, but I've never been disappointed. For fast food, the Hardee's (Carl Jr.'s) near me is actually a decent burger. The only consistency I've found is that McDonald's is fucking garbage everywhere. Even the few I tried in the UK, Germany, etc were crap. Better than here maybe, but still crap. |
