You can get knock off IPODS here in UAE for less than 100USD. Complete with no DRM, and no crappy apple software. It just looks and does all the same things as an ipod, just better. 2gigs for $37, 4 for $62 and a 30 gig for 95USD. Of course no warranty (-=

I love my ipod nano. Just pop the cd in the computer, plug in the nano and then walk away. I HATE the radio, so I need an mp3 player. The click wheel is really easy to use.

In the end I suppose any mp3 player would do, but I had a student discount for the nano so I got one.

The biggest plus for the Ipod for me is how it integrates into car stereos. Both my cars have Pioneer head units, with the ipod adapter, so I just plug in, and then can control it from the deck. This is the one and only feature that made me choose the ipod rather than a different MP3 player.

palm is about to release a new phone, very similar to a treo function-wise, but smaller and much cheaper. It's called the centro and is expected to be cost $99. Face it, the treo hasn't really kept up with technology; the 755 isn't far seperated from the 600, except for the better resolution display found in the 650 and newer. So it's not really right that it still costs $300.

i have the palm bluetooth headset (I got the palm one so that I wouldn't have to keep up with a second set of chargers). It sucks. Put it in my miata's center console about a year ago and haven't touched it since.

I picked up a motorola BT headset on ebay about a month ago. Only use it when i'm driving. Got it because of the chargers as well, all that small USB connection. They sell for ~$50-60 in stores. Got it for under $20 shipped brand new from Hong Kong, had no idea it was coming from there but didn't mind due to the savings. It works good, and it works with my Macbook perfectly for skype and things of that sort so i'm happy with it. Stepdad upgraded to a KRAZR and gave me his old RAZR. The RAZR is officially the shitties phone ever i hate it. I like phones in SLVR form more, flip phones suck the nut.

Ben, the difference between the 600 and 755p is the software. 755p works with exchange servers on every level. Activesync works with calendar, email, contacts all the goodies.

I have a 650 now, with activesync.
I had to buy a program to get my 600 to work with the exchange server. It worked fine, but didn't sync automatically on a schedule like my 650 does.

Still, that's not really enough to justify 3 years worth of development, is it?

Loki, how much faster is your 755's web browsing? Is it really "broad band like" as they claim?

its alot faster, the problem is the memory in the treo. The internet is way faster than the phone. Its nice for stuff like googlemaps.

i have a couple friends with the windows mobile based palms. they both say it's love/hate, as it's a neat interface but they expect to have to restart it at least twice a day.
